    You go girl! :)
Oh, so you were in the US Navy too? :pound:

We had a term for those guys when they made it to foreign ports.
We said they had "pesonality" . . . because they could now afford to pay for it, and would start acting like Don Juans.

A prerequisite for a date? Yeah, that would be weird. At least they'd be doing you a favor by getting that out there early so you'd know to avoid them. I've never heard of someone making that a prerequisite, so if you've been presented with that scenario, maybe you dated the wrong type of men.

I think the paranthetical is a non-sequitur, but I have been told by a straight female fried that she has been to strip clubs more than once and had a good time. She didn't go alone, but since we're making up generalizations I'll just venture a phoney statistic that 90% of male customers don't go alone either.

I will agree with you that in general women who go to such places probably go in with a very different set of expectations.

"Around the block" seems like you're saying you've done all the things you're preaching against and that even though you've "gotten to know" yourself so well, other people, especially men, who feel the need to pay for entertainment are perverted or mentally deficient.

It just sounds preachy and hypocritical to claim a lot of maturity through experience, but then tell others that there's something wrong with them if they want to gain maturity through their own experience instead of through your sage advice.

You're generalizing a little too much, and I think if you'd read all the other comments here, you'd see most people respond in ways that don't fit your presumptions. You did hit on an important fact though: If your own father weren't so low on the evolutionary scale then you never would have been born. If humans ever evolve to the point that they have no sexual desire, then the whole species is in big trouble! We need overwhelming sexual desire in order to successfully procreate. There are a lot of mental and physical obstacles in the way, and if we knew what was good for us, none of us would do it!

I have a feeling that you've made an important revelation in your argument here by equating strippers and hookers, and by extension, equating men who go (or have gone) to strip clubs with men who hire prostitutes. In fact there are a lot of different ways a woman can earn money in "adult" business, and while I guess you wouldn't approve of any of them, I think there are some important distinctions.

We could get further into that, but I'll try to leave it at this: nobody here but you mentioned hookers, and I think that's outside the scope of the discussion.

Knowing that those distinctions don't matter to you might feel degrading to some women who don't feel they're compromising their own standards in they way they make a living... or pay for college... yes maybe a sad stereotype, but as has been mentioned, it pays better than waiting tables, and might even let a woman return home with more dignity intact.

And no, I'm not offended by your viewpoint. Your arguments seemed overly generalized though, so I felt compelled to argue, even the parts that I tended to agree with in principle. I think your biggest mistake is in sounding like you know the minds of all men so well but that men can never know the minds of women. The truth is, we're all a mystery to each other most of the time, and all we have to go on is imagined archetypes, and direct communication. Archetypes come in handy sometimes, but I favor communication!

whether you like to or not, doesnt matter...

some strong willed opinions could have just been kept to themselves

    That's your opinion. :p

I don't agree that talking about the virtues (or lack thereof) of strip clubs is entirely off topic, but I will admit that I got a little carried away. Let's see if I can set things right:

    Boobies!!!:cheer2:

Went to one once, about 12 years ago. I must admit, I like boobies, but I didn't find it too interesting. It was more fun watching my drunk friend hitting on all the dancers.

You're right, I'm not.. Just as I'm not interested in hearing the reason there's always long lines of women with romance novels at the book store check outs..
