That is what I just ordered. ;) I may have ot get the extra mic but I guess we will see. My Garmin 660 arrives on the 10th. I'm so excited!

I don't know any dealers/installers closer to you or I would have recommended them for sure. All of my contacts are from Fairfield east into Sacramento. :( Sorry

Don't worry about the computer in the car. It's not that sensitive and the integration harnesses available will work around it with narry a hiccup. :) I've put all kinds of stereo equipment (1900 watts worth) in my car and have not had an issue.

Good choice!!! The external microphone is really nice. You'll have to get that separately. It only runs around $15 and is well worth it. I also found that the Bluetooth volume is too low for me, with the Prius noise, stereo, etc. PM me if you'd like to know how I handled that little detail. :)

    Thanks for the tip. :)

I was planning on using the headphone jack into the car stereo AUX input and see it that worked. It would require a lag time while I switched sources but may work. If I need some help I'll definately PM you. Thank you for the offer. :)

Thank you everyone for your help with the after market blue tooth issue!!! This is such a great forum!!!

I finally found an installer close to where I work who has done many after market blue tooth installations on the Pruis and knew exactly which device that work best, and where to mount the unit and the microphone. The unit will go in the little compartment that opens just below the dash and the microphone near the rear view mirror. I ordered the Parrot 3100 from Amazon which seemed to have the best price, about $85 cheaper than the installation place was selling it. But now I am waiting to find out if everything I need for installation is actually included in the kit. If not the installer's price may have been the best. Yikes, so many little details.

    Again, many many thanks,
    Happy Driving,
    Katherine

To all those that replied when I was looking for the after market blue tooth cell phone hands free device for my new Prius, thank you. I finally took ownership of my Spectra Blue Prius on July 4th, yippppeee! Shortly after that I found a place that knew exactly what to install and where it would fit. The Parrot 3100 sits perfectly in the little compartment beneath the radio, making it hidden but easy to reach. I am mostly happy with the system. It doesn't consistently respond to the voice "phone" command which activates it so I often have to push the on button to get it to accept a voice command, but once activated the sound through the speakers is terrific and people on the receiving it say the voice quality is very good. It was also very simple to download my phone book and the system will accept either a command by name or number.Yep, the added blue tooth feature has sure added to the enjoyment of my Prius experience.

    Thanks again,
    Kathmr
