Pics of my 05' with Scion 17" wheels and MPG loss updates..........

I really do like the look of these wheels on the car. So far I have driven about 50 miles and it does look like I will be loosing about 3 to 5 MPG. It is what I expected from all the prior info. I generally get 43 to 47 MPG and I think I will be getiing 39 to 43 from now on. I thought I would give it a try. I will give an update in a couple of days. It does handle better with the slightly wider and heavier wheels. Bought the wheels and tires used from Craigslist for $380 Bucks. Pretty cheap. Peace out my fellow Prius drivers! :D

Very nice. I just removed the pinstripes off my black 07 last week and feel like I have a whole new car.

Those look good. Too bad you lost up to 10% mileage. It's still amazing to me that heavier wheels/tires make that much of a difference.

The tire compound and section width increase plays a big part as well. I know you know that but some other readers may not. :)

UPDATE: So far I driven 370 miles and my total average is 44mpg. I took a 270 miles hike up the coast and I would usally get 47mpg. 3 mpg loss so far. Not too bad IMO. :D

I really don't get how peeps get away with blacking out their windows here in Orange County!
My luck......I'd no sooner get them tinted then I would get pulled over and ticketed!

    OT.....
    Rims look sharp!
I'd really like to get racing wheels like the Bonneville Prius used with the racing hubcaps and raised white letter tires..Those looked sweeet to me!

That's not bad. I'm sitting at 45 today (vs 49-52) just from switching the stock tires to Comfortreds. That and lousy summer E10 gas.

Looks good. And a great price for 4 Scion wheels and tires. I think just one of those wheels alone (no tire) costs about that much new.

Do you watch TV and listen to the stereo much in your garage? (I noticed them in your pics.)

Holy Crap that thing is incredible! I have got pulled over twice in 4 months. Only once did he right me up for a fix-it ticket. I am very used to it! I have had no less than 10 tint tickets over the last 15 years. All my M3's and P cars were limo tinted. I don't like people to be able to see inside. Not cause I am anything special, I just like my privacy!

No sensors in the 05'. Made it pretty easy. I think the 06' and up have sensors.

Update: Drove another 262 miles back down the Coast and my average MPG was 46.6 with a passenger and luggage. Very happy with the wheels and the very minor mpg loss!!!!
