The movie Zeitgeist explains many such parallels.

Are you saying Horus actually existed and isn't a figment of someone's imaginative story telling?

Horus the egyptian sun/sky/war god was born on Dec. 25th?

There are no religions that do not have parallels from some prior sect... and those that think their written record is uniquely inspired by the divine don't know or understand that if the creator wanted you to know something... you would be born knowing it.

She don't need to have it written... ya know... being god and all...

As for the general thought that this is a similarity and not a historical ripoff, I believe it is indeed a ripoff by those saying they are to be among the chosen few, and the followers of the only true path, that allow them the ability for certain men to gain and keep power over others.

As is some of later works... held dear by islamofascists worldwide.

Religions' books/scrolls/tablets/or spoken lore are all written by men to keep certain men in power. It is a bonus that some of the religions have some of the values we now consider as moral.

    RELIGION

The stuff kings are made off...

Or that the story was rewritten for a new audience.

Funny you should ask that. Maybe it's not just Horus in question.

Not to discount the content, but the website reminds me of 9/11 conspiracy/coincidence websites.

People who have followed a faith - any faith - have not brought one_single_thing of value into the world. Hang on, let me go back and read that statement. Yup, looks like what some in this thread are saying. Maybe if we all sit on the same side of the black-and-white boat we can tip it over into the waters of blind opinion. That would be fun.

Maybe we should just have us a good old-fashioned book-burnin'. Yee...Haw!!! Throw in all the Bibles, Korans, and whatever religious material you can find!!! Burn, baby, burn!!! Seig Heil!!!!!!!

There is no evidence to suggest that Isis (mother) was a virgin, she was married to Osiris (father) and there is no reason to assume that the marriage was not consummated.

Osiris was killed by his brother Set and dismembered into 14 pieces, Isis reassembled Osiris but was unable to locate his penis or maybe found it inadequate in one way or the other and discarded it. In any case she fashioned her own handmade phallus so while it may have been a miraculous conception it was hardly virginal.

Her name was Isis not Isis-Meri and other than one author’s unproven assertion Meri was not a part of her name.

Horus was born on the last day of the Egyptian month of Kholak or November 15, Jesus likewise was not born on December 25 but most probably May or June.

Horus was born in a swamp.

Horus’s birth was not announced by a star in the east.

There were no “three wise men” at Horus’ birth just as there was not at Jesus’.

Seb was Osiris father not Horus’ and there appears to be no parallel between “Seb” and “Joesph” other than the fact that they are both common names.

Royal descent = BINGO! This one appears to be true!

There is no record Horus taught in a temple or was baptized.

Horus did not walk on water.

Horus did not come to fulfill the law as there was no law to fulfill.

Horus did not deliver a sermon on the mount, nor was he transfigured on the Mount.

Horus was not crucified, there is an unofficial story wherein he dies and is cast into the water, then is later fished out by a crocodile at Isis' request. This is the only story in which he dies.

Which millions? Are you talking about the Crusades the Inquisition or what? I feel safe in saying it isn't anything near the death's cause by atheist, hate or greed.
