OK. In honor of Sam and the Other Sam, here's a question about the Other Other Sam --- Sam the Sham (of Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs):

What is Sam the Sham's real name? (Alternatively, who wrote Wooly Bully?)

Hint: His surname has "sam" in it.

Here's my question. Its about famous inventors, who happen to be female.

We all know that Mary Anderson invented the windscreen wiper (don't we?),
but who invented the pedal-operated rubbish bin, shelves inside the refrigerator door, the electric food mixer, and designed the protocols for both modern operating rooms and brick laying?

Here are two hints for you:
She is the only psychologist to my knowledge to have ever appeared on a us postage stamp.
Her family life (she had 12 children!) was the subject of a very popular book and a couple of popular films.

-- In high school, Sam was in a band with Trini Lopez.

-- Duane Allman played guitar on Sam's solo album.

-- When Ry Cooder went searching for Sam to work on or contribute to the soundtrack for The Border, he found Sam working on an oil rig in Louisiana/Gulf of Mexico.
