My extended warranty will be running out this fall and was wondering what I should be checking out before it expires. I have a 2005 which just turned 3 years old and just shy of 90,000 miles. We have replaced both front hub assemblies and had a little trouble with water getting in the coil pack tubes. Other than that it has been a pleasant 90,000 miles of driving.

I hate going to dealers for service but was thinking it might be worth having them looking it over before the warranty runs out, any thoughts?

I did just change the transaxle oil myself (dealer said it needed it) and have done most of the oil changes, filter replacements and little things myself.

Any concerns, thoughts or dealer recommendations I should heed or be wary of?

what caused the front hubs to go out? That would be expensive I bet without coverage. At what miles did they go?

    1. MFD - has it ever acted flaky?
    2. Inspect front struts and rear shocks, looking for oil leaks. If leaks are more than minor, you may be able to get them replaced under warranty (a fairly expensive repair post-warranty)
    3. Air conditioning - does it quickly cool down a hot passenger cabin?
    4. Any problems with the stereo system or CD changer?
    5. Exhaust system - check physical integrity (rust, holes, etc.)
    6. Brake system - if covered under extended warranty, inspect front disk rotors/pads and rear drums/shoes

Not sure what made them go, right front went at 73,000 and the left a few thousand later.

Patrick......... I hesitate to say that the MFD, Stereo and the AC have worked fine. I'll look over the exhaust, struts, shocks and brakes before the big 100,000.

    Thanks
