I haven't even put it on yet! <:0)

I do about 17 miles one way commute on the freeway... so I'd imagine it would help me there more than the side streets. Expecting a bit more stability from crosswinds. We'll see, I guess!

I'm extremely car illiterate. could I have a regular mechanic do this for me? And does this void the warranty?

For anyone that can use a standard ratchet, it is literally a 5 minute job. More time is spent getting under the car than removing the old plate and installing ours!!

    No worries about your warranty....

    Brian:

I've been looking at these things, but even at $20 off, it's hard for me to justify forking up $145 for a piece of aluminum. It just seems way overpriced... I absolutely mean no disrespect, but I'm looking at this thinking I might pay around half your sale price for it.

What is it about these that make them $145 better than the stock plate? Do they bow less? If so, why does that make the car handle better? I guess for me, I have to understand the problem this piece of metal is solving before I think about forking up the bucks for it. If I'm wondering about that, I bet other people are too.

Generally if something is not selling well, it is put on sale. Maybe answering some of these questions might help.

Can you please explain in detail?

    Hello NeoPrius,

No disrespect at all.... For what this part does for the handling and stability of the Prius, the part is actually inexpensive. A lot of design work went into this and for those that have it, they can comment first hand on the quality and the difference in handling that it made to their car.

We like to put them on sale every once in a while for the forum members. This is not an idication that we are not selling them as it is probably one of the most popular performance parts that you can get for your Prius!!

Regarding your other comments, please visit the link that Danny provided.

Recieved mine today! Took less than 7 days to receive it including the weekend.

Can't wait to install and see how it rides.

Thank you for the quick service.

I am also very interested on your input, ksullivan. If it is worth installing with improvement on 'stiffening the chassis'...then I will definitely get one for my ride. I am also looking at their strut tower brace, but I think it does required that some parts are to be left out of the car after the install. The BT Tech stiffening plate is my best bet. Let us know, if you like it or not.

What parts need to be left out on the tower brace?

That I may have to research myself and probably give BT Tech a phone call and verify whether this is true or not.

There are not any parts that are left out when installing our BT Tech tower strut brace. Once it is installed, it looks like it came from the factory!!
