    John, what's your opinion on an assist-hybrid if somehow Honda makes a hybrid car which uses less gas than a full-hybrid?

    As long as that better efficiency doesn't come at the penalty of emissions (for example, diesel) then kudos to them. Consumers will really like that.

    Trouble is, it makes the simplicity of offering a better battery-pack with a plug an option (like other package upgrades) impossible. Business doesn't like that.

    Looking at the big-picture and long-term plan is the difference.

    that statement technically can not be correct :).
    If Insight had full hybrid system, it would have better mpg than Insight with IMA only :).

    They have a fuel-cell car. All they'd have to do is replace the fuel cells with batteries and they'd have an EV. I'd sure like to see a pure EV or range-extended serial PHEV from Honda!
