Why choose a 2" hitch over a smaller one?

mine does flex a lot. We are borrowing a friends bike rack. It wobbles around. I've wrapped it with electrical tape in a few key spots.. it helps... kinda...

Maybe i'll weld on better supports...

Awesome Idea! I'm have to look into a similar design asap!

To echo a few other queries, has anyone been able to find another manufacturer (besides Coastal) who makes a hitch with a 2" receiver for a Prius?
I already own an expensive bike rack with a 2" shank and am not crazy about using a reducer and lengthening the lever.

Why doesn't Curt make a 2" hitch for the Prius?

I have the 2" Coastal on my 2003 and have ordered one for my 2009. However I don't use them for towing but instead for stashing my key in the "Hitch Safe" as I don't dare carry the smart key with me while diving!

You can take a close look at my modified 2" inch Coastal hitch by clicking on the pics here: http://priuschat.com/forums/newbie-f...tml#post558310

I've done a lot of towing in the last three years and have had no problems. I did remove, sandblast, and repaint the entire hitch this spring. (Wisconsin road salt in winter is a killer)

I am trying to figure out which hitch to buy, so I can't recommend anything, but I noticed a 2" hitch at suspensionconnection.com.
