Help Newbie pick leather for Magnetic Gray Metallic Prius!

Hi All-

I'm picking up a brand new magnetic gray metallic prius (yes!) this week. It's option 3, and I'm upgrading the seats to leather. The interior is dark gray, and I have a bunch of Katzkin samples. I have two questions:

1. The dealer told me that graphite is the closest color to the factory leather, although I have to say that the existing gray fabric seats in the car seems lighter in tone. Regardless, I was thinking it might be nicer to either go for a lighter color (maybe light grey, which actually seems like a medium grey to me) or go darker with dark graphite or even black. Anyone who has been through this process have any thoughts on which Katzkin colors work well with the dark gray interior?

2. In addition to the seats, should I be putting leather on anything else? I can't remember e.g., whether the steering wheel is leather wrapped. How does it work with the factory leather?

Thanks. Looks like were going with the light grey which is close to the factory color. My last two cars have either had graphite or black leather, so I think I'm ready for a change.

In terms of the perforations, we're not getting seat warmers. Don't know if that makes a difference.

 

Thanks - turns out that it's not so easy to do the steering wheel because of the airbags. I'm sure you're right that we could save money, but what's done is done now.
