Thanks for the info. I got my car about 4 months ago, it is a company car. We have a small company and do a lot of traveling, so we have 3 identicals and have had them for just over a year. I just rolled over 50k miles last week!

The guy that had mine before me didn't really take care of the car (smoked in it, didnt keep it clean, etc). I spent a good weekend cleaning her up and she looks great now! Pics to come :humble:

You must get good mpg doing those kind of miles I would think. How much do you reckon you save in a year on running costs using the Prius (gas, taxes, repairs etc) ?
Great company car choice - our sales manager just got one, he's really pleased to bits with it.

Well, we have 3 Priuses probably averaging around 50mpg. We do mostly highway driving. Before the Priuses we had F-150's (v-6, nothing special), but were probably seeing about an average of 17mpg. All 3 cars have over 50k on the odo in a little over a year.

    50k/17 is about 2941, we'll say 3000 gallons of gas a year x 3 cars = 9,000 gallons of gas

50k/50 is 1000, 3000 gallons of gas for three cars.

Just for the sake of gas recently rising so much, if you calculate the price of gas at $2.50 a gallon then last year we saved $15,000 dollars roughly

You factor in the price of gas now and we are paying for one prius every year in gas savings alone!

Not bad considering we got the 3 for about 22k a piece before gas went way up and the demand for the cars was high, then for us it has been a good investment

I have been reading this site for years and have finally decided to join in. I am a Toyota Service Director in Southern California and have been with Toyota for 23 years. I don't know everything about everything but if I can help anyone get questions answered I would be happy to try. The Dealership I work for is one of the top 5 Prius Dealers in the world in volume so I experience a variety of situations with our Hybrids. I employ 12 Hybrid Technicians so as I mentioned if you have a question I will sure try to get you an answer.
