    Mileage or fuel economy ("the miles-per-gallon index") is THE determining factor when choosing an eco-friendly car.


    It separates the Toyotas and Saabs from the Lemons.



    If bureaucratic red tape does not tangle itself up in blue too too much, we just might see fuel economy information posted as clearly as the text in a King James Bible.

    The 2008 Toyota Prius: 48mpg/city; 45mpg/highway; 46mpg/combined
    The 2009 Toyota Prius: same

    I agree that FE/MPG figures should be factually based and clearly posted .

    That said I surely wouldn't encourage EPA to use the King James version
    of the canonical Bibles as an example: flowery, obtuse, arcane, mistake
    ridden, politically slanted.

    Tailpipe emission is just one factor. At the present time, we don't really have a lot of choices when it comes to choosing an eco-friendly car. It can either be electric, hybrid, or the other.
