I just walked into a dealer and bought a new 09 Prius, package 2 for 25799 USD out the door incl. destination, fees, my state's taxes. Was this a good deal, fair deal, or not?

Where did you purchase it . . . the Moon? ;)

Add your location to your profile and people will have a better chance of giving you a correct answer.

    Well
    I paid $24,500 plus 8% taxes. Option package 2
    But I live in NY

If you are giving a price of what you paid, give before tax price, every counties taxes are different. Here in NY there are at least 12 diffeerent tax rates depending on the county you live in.

Depending on if there were any extras this could have been a good price. It all depends on what you were charged for tax, destination, fees, etc. What really matters is are you happy with the price you paid. If you are, don't worry about it.

But it has batteries and electric motors . . . it's good for stealth driving. :pound:

Ohhhh, and blind people . . . WATCH OUT! Absolutely no sound on the moon.

~$23600 USD pretax. Final out-the-door $25799 USD with tax, fees, etc.

You're right - it is a done deal, and I'm satisfied. Just curious.

MSRP sticker on my 2008 Package 2 including $199 floor mats was $24309 pretax, so looks like you got yours under sticker? If so that's a good deal, especially compared to this summer's prices.

Yeah, that's a good deal. Had to pay MSRP here in Oregon, w/out sales tax for my '09 pkg 2. Whats your story, waiting list or "lucky" walk in, would love to hear.

Lucky walk in after phone relationship. No wait list (surprising as I heard 1-3 months wait in general but people drop out). Big dealer - larger inventory (3 09 pack. 2's). Last day of month - trying to move units off lot to get more in from mother Toyota, get bonus commission, willing to reduce their profit as net dealerships good for month. Falling gas prices (since July/August). National finance issue. Some negotiating. Got >$1K off sticker, which made the cost differential of getting a gentle used preowned pretty small. I imagine folks will be seeing similar deals over the coming months.
