Oh please, you're not being polite, you're being very rude.

*I* have been polite, simply saying I don't care for the Prius, and I have explained why using language that is not emotionally charged in the past. You however have said things like this, in this thread:

    Simply for disagreeing with you:
Nothing but politely disagreeing here huh? Nothing rude at all.

If you don't think these statements are rude I'm sorry for your upbringing.

You can't compare a $25,000 Prius to a $75,000 Audi A8, thats just stupid. Someone here asked you to name a $25,000 vehicle that is better built than the Prius and you didn't even attempt to.

The A8 is a nice car, but I hope you have a mechanic on retainer. I've never owned an Audi, but I've owned a Volkswagen and it had so many problems it was gone before 30k miles. I had some tires installed on the Lexus at a local euro shop that specializes in VW and Audis, and he had two late model A8s (a 2005 and a 2006) in the shop both that needed transmission replacements and he told me that these cars need CONSTANT care and attention to keep them running at all, even after just a couple years...

I don't have the free time to devote to a car like that...I want a car that runs...so I'll stay away from Audi.

If I were moderating this forum, I would have banned you already and DEFINATELY would have banned you for posting that PM.

Its not your opinions, its your attitude and how nasty you are in the way you present them.

Sorry if the site wants members who know how to behave towards others.

I have disagreed with others all over this site, I have said many times I do not care for our Prius, I am dissapointed in the way it rattles, I think the seats are really uncomfortable. Somehow a thread like this has never developed around my opinions and the moderators have never threatened to ban me.

I bet nobody is threatening to ban debos!

Why do you think that is? If don't know re-read the quotes I posted above. If you still don't understand and agree that they are rude and inflammatory...then they should ban you.

I had to put my spare on the other day and jacked up the car with the jack that was supplied. Same here, no crumpling or "folding on itself."

I would let him slide. He is the worst kind of rude in that he doesn't realize it and thinks others are rude for pointing it out to him.:(

They just removed his post above my second post where he pasted the PM from management.

My guess is we won't be seeing much of fish_antlers anymore lol

I think it's important for the OP to realize that this is a Prius FAN site, not a site whose purpose is to critically evaluate whether the Prius is worth its price-point, not the BEST CAR OUT THERE etc. This site's real purpose is to be a portal to sell Prius mods and act as a forum for self back patting and congratualtion. That's fine, that's what fan sites are.

I've manged to get some interesting debates about the pros (which there are many) and cons (there are also many of these) about the prius. I would say than it's been partially succesful with at least a portion of the thread contriubutors offering useful information and adding to the debate. Unfortauntely, there are many on this site who yell down others who don't think the Prius is the best thing since sliced bread with accusations of 'TROLL!'. It's unfortunate because I think the Pruis is a decent car at a decent price. I turned down a new Prius last summer at $1000 below invoice. It was a good choice for me for the simple fact that I am quite tall (and a lot of torso) so I just don't fit well in the car. Unfortunte that the Prius doesn't work for me - but such is life.

Anyway, I've gone off on a huge tangent. Congratualtions to the Prius chat users who are jubiklantly congratualting themselves on the banning of fish_anterlers. Not sure why you seem so proud of yourselves - but hey, whatever gets you through the day.

I agree with you about this, and it exists on other car forums but not as strongly as it seems to here. I think it has to do with the fact that people assign more to their decision to purchase the Prius than simply deciding between cars, and I think it has to do with the fact that many members here are not "car people" like they are on other car sites. Car people have a respect for every car even if they may prefer one make or model. For many people here, they had no interest in cars until they got their Prius...so they are "Prius people" not "car people".

fish_antlers IS a troll. The way he puts his opinions forth is designed to be inflammatory and to start things precisely like this. You are NOT a troll. I am NOT a troll. debos is NOT a troll. While we may have things about the Prius we dislike and while we may voice those opinions we do it with respect and fairness and we accept that others don't agree with us. He does not. Thats the difference.

Perhaps if he had been more specific about why he felt the Prius is an econobox other than this one issue concerning jacking up the car ... and had been less antagonistic ....

It almost seems like he was trying to be banned.

People like him aren't interested in discussing his opinions with you. To discuss one's opinions you have to respect the other person's viewpoints which he obviously does not.

I went back and looked at more posts. I see your point. It does look like someone was intentionally looking for a fight -- really on both sides. People love to feed trolls!

I have no problems with people trashing the Prius. In fact, I have done so my self a time or two here. I have issues with the ridiculous bladder and overly aggressive traction control. The difference is that I don't resort to inflammatory comments or personal attacks. You could have your idea of a favorite meal but, if it was served on the cover of a septic tank, it kind of loses it's appeal.

I went to work quite tired the day after buying mine. Ended up in the breakroom in the middle of a roast on me after someone said, "Brett bought a Prius".

    - 'You bought a what? OMG, it's over' should have bought a Vette, Camaro, anything but that'
    - 'The only women you'll pick up are in Berkeley with that thing'
    - etc...

I could not care less what they think about it. One minute in the car for any one of them and they would be very humbled at what it can do. Never judge a book by its cover.

i had a notion that this forum was an arena for open thoughtful discussion, not tirades about off subject topics. all i wanted to do was to vent my frustration with my prius, not yours. the fact that my dislike was result of poor research, which i did, or that this was an impulsive buy, which it was not, distance me more not only from the car but this sight as well. there have been numerous helpful posts, which have quelled some of talking point as to why i find my car sub par. im open to any helpful advice, thoughts on how i could improve my experience, but leave your personal attacks an d berating words else where. you do nothing to forward to ideas, you instead kill what i believe is the goal here. retard

The trouble with fish_antlers is many (or most) of his comments were extreme - 'crumple like tinfoil', 'built like a soda pop can', buyers with 'blind faith', etc...

I would think many (or most) Prius owners are pretty intelligent people, so kiddy comments don't go very far here.

And for Teevos and us feeding the trolls, sometimes it's fun to have a little sport back at a troll. A bad attitude is often a sign of much bigger problems within another person though. This is the internet and all sorts of people end up here.

Sorry about that, and about your disappointment with the car.

I've probably made 10 times more impulsive decisions than the average person.

Hmm.. We got a number of new people who just signed up and posted to this thread as their very first posts-- "Buelldozer" and "BusaVeloce" right after someone who has been looking for a fight got banned.

Just saying that's an interesting "coincidence." Ahem.

I guess I should apologize about "agreeing" with fish_antlers. My bad. It was too hard to resist.
