The Prius Team has posted a new image over on TN this afternoon. Looks like B mode is confirmed, along with a cooler looking "joystick" than we have now.

Cool new shifter. Think it'll fit in Priapus?

Nice to see that Toyota left the shifter functionality unchanged. Hopefully this is yet another sign or indication that Toyota hasn't asked for too much marketing help to improve the Prius.

So what is the funky blue grid pattern-- is it imbedded in the shifter knob, or is that the reflection of the underside of the solar roof? :)

    1) I'm surprised it took me several hours to figure out just how far out of context that question could be taken.

    2) I'm surprised no one has yet.

Wasn't that visible from the spy pics? Ah well, cool looking shifter for sure. I just wished it didn't take up so much space.

    Yay, more sneak peaks!
That is a sweet shifter, if it's got standard threads I'd seriously consider trading out the one in my Prius for that baby.

Let us not forget the "official" pics. It's also consistent with the official pic!
Upon further observation, the images above and below are pretty close matches.

Matt, that makes two of us. However, I'm sure Toyota will put some type of illumination in it. I'm not sure how the Prius is, but my Corolla has slight illumination in EVERYthing. Fortunately, the Corolla also has the option to "blackout" everything. Normally, at night, my interior is pitch black. Not a single light. Even my Alpine stereo deck has a "blackout" option, as does my radar detector. I sure hope the next Prius has a blackout option, because if it does, I'm definitely going to be on the waiting list.

Hmm I guess this is a picture from a left hand drive model.
Here in "right hand drive world" the R-N-D is to the right side - as in flick right then down for "D". At least on the 2008 Prius... I hope they have it the same way round.

the shifter goes toward the drivers side then up for reverse and down for drive in all markets.

Just a Question....... What do you mean (B Mode confirmed?) Nothing is different except the way it looks is it? My '07 has "B Mode". Something I missed?

Yes, there was a question raised whether the 2010 would have B-mode or not.

Do you dislike blue, or is it the notion of glowing that bothers you?

It wouldn't bother me if it glowed, but it wouldn't fill me with lust either.

I think an LED glow would be pretty annoying...but the blue is cool looking.

My guess is that Park would be on the centre console, just above the shifter knob on the left hand side (at least on these left hand drive vehicles seen on PC so far). In the concealed prototype's pic, that'd be obscured by the steering wheel. In the leaked "official" pic you can see that there's a button of some sort on the left hand side just above the 'stick. Me thinks it's the Park button.

BTW: The knob's face in my 07 is dimly lit by a green LED (like the rest of the instruments save the speedo panel) so this probably means that the 2010's cabin illumination at night will be of a blueish hue (I'd love the relaxing colour they have on VWs)

In the pictures there's a round button above and right of the shifter. I'm guessing that's park... could be "power" but I would guess they'd leave that on the dash near the key slot, and "park" next to the selector lever.
