Here are a couple of pics showing how I used the left side ProClip mount from Prius Shop to mount my new Scangauge II. Thanks Danny for the quick ship and the group buy savings! Even though I am a complete novice compared to most of you - I love this thing!

I ran the cable down the driver A-B pillar and then underneath the dash while keeping clear of the pedals. Mostly hidden from view and blends nicely with the dash trim colors.

Hopefully this helps those who want to avoid drilling holes in their dash or cd holder box. Looks reasonably clean and is completely non-permanent so I can move it from vehicle to vehicle if need be.

The pics are from the phone cam, so hopefully they are decent enough. If not, I can try posting some better shots when I have more time.

Did you consider running the cable through the vent itself to hide it even more? Or at least b/w the vent and dash.

There's no opening inside the vent to run the cable out of. It's airtight (obviously).

Well... "airtight" enough for its designed purpose.

Since the vent is never fully closed, the vent and ductwork never sees
appreciable pressure. When you take out the vent, you find it mates
loosely to the actual very thin ducting. It wouldn't be difficult at all to put
a small hole in the duct to lead the SG wire out of.

Yeah, thought about it - but I wanted to keep it relatively easy to disconnect for use in my other vehicles. This literally took minutes to do and the thought of popping off the vent everytime I wanted to move it swayed me. I might reconsider once I get a feel for how much moving between vehicles I do. I suppose I could always buy an extra cable for it though. Hmmm, I may have to give that some thought.

We do the ScanGauge II right through the steering wheel, then we tuck the cord behind the panels directly behind the right side. 99% of the cord is gone and goes directly to the port.

Here are some pictures on my car:

I considered this too. How easy is this to undo should you want to move the scangauge to another vehicle? Couple of minutes of fishing the cable out? Also, does the velcro seem to stick well to the textured part of the dash? I wondered how well it would adhere with changes from winter to summer temps.

You would leave the cord in the vehicle and just unplug the SGII. Get a 2nd cord. Taking the panels off is easy, but not something I would want to do everytime just to move a SGII to another vehicle.

The two velcro pieces are facing out. The sticky sides attaches fine to the textured part of the dash. I used both pieces side by side to give it double strength.

That's a good catch. I had missed that. Sounds like you have to pay attention to the proper plug-in/power-on sequence when moving between vehicles and/or starting up the first time.

I ruled that location out as it blocks the AC vent and I need my AC in SC. I am thinking of the dash right over the vent, or the dash in front of the steering wheel so it can be seen over the horn
