You should be careful with this lamps! It may be possible that the higher temp of the lamp destroy the mirror or case. this is all only plastic. I have had such trouble with my old Nissan. There was no problem with higher current in the cables. But the mirror was melting.

 

Yeah, see how it's all doing in another month or so, depending
on how much night driving you do. The brighter lamps tend to
not last nearly as long, either, simply because the filaments
are run so much harder for the same supply voltage.

The poor people who have to look at your 85w headlights. It is very self centered of you to FORCE people to look at your BRIGHT headlights.

I really hate people like you who replace the 55w bulbs with what they think they should have. Fxxk the rules huh?

I agree, well aimed headlight regardless how bright they are shouldn't be an issue. Poorly aimed lights are a pain in the bum even if they are only 37 watt. (remember those 37 watt 5 1/4 inch sealed beams?)

Edit: - I don't need to remember, I can just drive my 68 Toyota Crown, it has the factory originals still in it.

The fact of the matter is you show absolutely no foresight or consideration to how your actions may disturb others.

Let me make one simple example, just for you.
Please tell me how your illegal, well aimed headlights, bouncing off of wet pavement, do not increase glare for oncoming traffic.
No, the answer is not, “ It never rains in SoCalâ€.

Glare was not a problem for me until recently, it just kind of sneaks up on you.

If you choose to call people unfriendly because they won’t buy your bull@@@@, you have more pressing issues to deal with.

 

A 80W bulb only give a slightly increase in intensity compare to the 55W. The aiming should not change as the construction of the filament is the same and at the same location inside the bulb. The glare should not increase.

The worst offenders are the ones replace the halogen bulbs with HIDs because the head light reflector is not designed to focus the beam for HIDs.

 

Having properly aimed lights is not the holy grail, here. One consideration is that they are not legal, and one might say for good reason.

Properly Aimed only matters on a level surface with cars going right past each other. Coming over a hill, coming out of driveways, coming around corners, and any other time when lights are not level and straight ARE precisely the problem. And THAT is a great deal of the time.

Add to that that all the other drivers on the road are NOT young and viril like you, with eyes like an eagle and nerves of steel. THEY suffer at your hands.

Perhaps you were inconsiderate by your inability to empathize, but now that you've been informed of your actions it must be by youthful arrogance if you simply don't believe us.
