I recently went to Japan for a business conference and stopped by a local Toyota aftermarket store just for fun and seen the nicest steering wheel on a Prius! I couldn't believe how beautiful it looked and just had to have one. I had actually bought a wheelskin just last month but wasn't very happy with it because you could feel the bumps in the stiching and it just didn't look factory at all. This wood/lthr wheel has a super nice thick grip and soft yet durable leather. It feels even better than the leather wood steering wheel in my AMG SL65 ! Anyway I loved it so much I decided to buy 4 of them while I was there since I knew my buddy would want one. I have 2 in a equally beautiful grey wood / leather combo because my buddy has a silver prius with the black and grey interior combo and it looks absolutely stunning ! The quality of these wheels is unmatched. I am selling the 3 I have left for $269 each if anyone is interested . I had mine installed by a local toyota dealership and they charged me 1/2 hr for the install which was cheap. Now when I drive my Prius, I dont feel like Im driving a economy car but feels more like some expensive european automobile :cheer2:

A trim shop near me will cover you standard wheel in leather, I bet you can have it done locally too. They need your car for the day though. Cost here is about $200AU

That is really cool, these are the things that Toyota need to make availible to the US market, lots of ppl dont want to give up their luxury car seats and steering wheel to save the world, myself included.

That looks like someone just covered a standard Prius wheel with some leather and stick on wood.

I am interested in something on this order.....please tell me, did the dealer completely remove the original steering wheel and replace it with your mod????? In other words, can just the outer wheel part be removed??? I was told by the dealer that they couldn't replace the plastic steering wheel because of air bags etc.
    Thanks for your help!

    hey koolkat,
Do you have any left? What type of wood is that? Looks like rosewood. I'd prefer something less red if that is possible. But, please write back as I am very interested. Thanks!

Awesome! I'm not much for wood trim, but I can really appreciate the way the wood parts of the wheel feel in hand. (Like on a Lexus). Might I ask if the wheel came in other wood colors? I'm not even sure how to access products of this nature here in the states.

I sent him a PM months ago and never heard back, so I don't think he has any left.

Sorry for resurrecting an ancient thread but this steering wheel looks amazing.

Any idea where to order these online? Don't mind ordering straight from Japan if necessary.
