Um, yes it will but who said I'll be in Australia at that time.
I have been to the UK 3 times you know, I have a passport. :p

I just didn't think of that.

Are you going to cross the river or haven't given it much thought, you know :I'll cross that bridge when I come to it" sort of thing. I'm raving, sorry.

Anyone notice at the point where the button is pressed to wash the headlights, that there is another button below it with a picture of the sun on it (sunroof?)

That's for dimmer for the dash lights, it's a lightbulb with an instrument gauge image. You had me go back and look though! lol

Not sure but don't new models normally hit the dealers in about October here? I don't think it will be released in USA for a few month yet.
I might see what I can find out over the next two weeks and let you know. Then again I might not be able to find much at all. Toyota Australia like to play their cards close to their chest. I asked them once already and got a polite, "We are not able to reveal any information about future models."
    I won't give up.

before April and September in most of the world... although i suspect it will be closer to april, as they have a lot of production capacity and new model will be good for this bad market climate

Alright, thanks for the info m8!

I just hope it will be out in Australia this year. My car needs a replacement and this prius seems like the perfect car for me.

I have the opposite opinion. The instantaneous numbers on the Energy Monitor are impossible to read and interpret reliably, whereas the instantaneous graph is readable at a glance. I virtually never use the Energy Monitor screen and it's a bit annoying that it a) automatically flips into that mode when you press the EV button, and b) doesn't come out of that mode automatically when you disable EV mode.

Sadly the battery SOC is not available on any other display. Again, useless information when not in EV mode, as the car aims for six bars almost no matter what you're doing, but somewhat useful in EV mode as you know when the car will start the ICE.

I hope that's a proper rheostat rather than a multi-position switch this time.

It does look like a lot of questionable innovations on NHW20 (nice ideas in theory, but terrible usability) are being undone, which to my mind is a good thing.

    Mike,

we seem to have vastly different ideas of what info is useful. I can live
with this as our outlooks are driven by our daily driving experiences which
    are themselves vastly diffierent.

At any rate I think that a discussion of our views can lead to greater
understanding of the flexibility of the HSD in differing driving environments
and the data needed to do so.

My views are spread throughout this thread:

MFD Energy Graph; MPG-H, A Better Way?

You are more than welcome to go there and post your ideas in a place
where they will have on-going visibility and access to interested members.

I have no doubt what so ever that it will be released here before the end of the year. Stay tuned for a rundown on the new Prius, I believe there will be a flurry of information coming out in a week or so.

The funny thing is that you guys get that button for the dimmer. On our cars, that position is for the km/h-mph toggle. We have a proper rotary dial for the dimmer.

Hmm... I wonder what the two blanks could be.

Well, it's only 6 days, 14 hours, 5 minutes and 41 seconds before we will know everything regarding this car, getting exited.

I must be behind the times. Boss Downer who? So after watching a bunch of his vid's, I get it. Philosophy: Cowboys are american heros, and techno geeks are cool too, all rolled into one. Owning a straw Stetson and a prius, heck that works for me. Loved the vid.

    Hi folks,

I have to side with Toyota on this one. As much as I've enjoyed the 'leak,' I also realize it can eviscerate a press release. Folks may not realize that print and broadcast media won't carry something they don't see as 'new and original' unless it is new and original. By 'leaking' an unauthorized video, Toyota's subsequent attempts to get press coverage are put at risk.

I'm also someone who has a lot of respect for "intellectual property rights." Having once been plagiarized (I was given a document to 'approve' only to find my words under someone else's name,) I know personally the hurt and angst. I'm not talking about the thieving land-shark, music copyright companies that give less than 10 cents on the dollar to the authors. But really, without recognition of the works of others, we impoverish the very sources of innovation and creativity.

Sorry to get on my 'high horse' but something about having your work taken without attribution, worse attribution given to someone else, ... well it is a sore point.

Let me put it this way, if I were competition to Toyota, I would love to have everything they do, especially the really expensive productions, 'leaked'. This was not a friendly act towards Toyota.
