I didn't get that many uses out of my only Ford (a '55).

Partnering with the TV show 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,' Ford Motor Company yesterday shocked the Pennsylvania-area Drumm family with a brand new 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid sedan. Significant financial hurdles encountered by Matt and Blasia Drumm, who have two autistic children requiring three doctors visits weekly as well as other costly medical needs, had left them at the mercy of a borrowed van from a family member and a home in dire need of repairs, updates, and furniture.


The aging van they borrowed to see their third son Ben, a 17-year old attending military academy in Virginia, easily sucked down $60 to $80 on the drive, prohibiting more frequent visits. In addition, limited transportation was hampering Blasia Drumm's professional dream of offering home respite care. With the class-leading fuel economy of their new 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid (beating out the Camry Hybrid at a frugal 41/36), the Drumms should manage both more frequent visits to Virginia as well as expanded career opportunities.


In addition to donating the Fusion Hybrid, Ford also contribued to the makeover by affixing energy-saving solar panels to the roof of the new home, helping to reduce the home's energy consumption, energy costs, and environmental footprint.

 

How many times can you cut the same strand of hair in one pass? Pretty soon they're going to have a razor with 32 blades.

 

I was actually watching this episode as usual. It's a great show, and finally they give them a car they can use. The solar panels were also a good idea because with that many people living in one house, solar can/will help.
