Vavle stem replacement

    Not a bad description. The only thing I would add is that theses days cars have TPMS sensors and they sometimes are part of the valve stem. A warning to check would be appropriate.

    I could see that if you're off in the boonies, the 2x4 would be a useful trick. If you also had a new valve stem and an airpump :)

    The strap to seat the bead is a neat idea.

    Maybe a year ago, Hobbit posted a warning about valve stems that were cracking (poor manufacture). Good idea for anybody to take a peak at theirs to confirm they are still nice. Of course I think that all car drivers ought to pay way more than the typical attention to their tires.
