Wouldn't modding seat to slide back further lift shoulder harness away from chest?

Sat in my car tonight seeing if driver's seat was modded to slide back farther, wouldn't shoulder belt be away from torso / chest?

I talked to a place in Berkeley, Mobility Systems. Says they remount sliders onto different place on seat, causing it to slide back farther if desired.

Sounds great, but seems it would mess up the seat belt position, causing it to be too far in front.

There have been some threads here about seat rail extensions, recaro seat put in, Volvo seats ....

what have these things done to your seat belt fit to your body?

If you haven't done so already, I would suggest that you PM the two PriusChatters we know of who have extended their seat rails back a few inches -- nyprius and epop23 -- as they may not frequent PriusChat or this forum on a daily basis.

For the same reasons, I would also PM the two known PriusChatters who have put in Volvo seats -- problemchild and Wildkow.

    Good idea.

Wouldn't be surprised if the answer is yes.

    You're right. I don't check here often.
So I thought I should share with anyone who would like to know.

I'm fat and that seems to keep the lap belt in a good position.
I only have the seat back about 2 1/2 inches.
With the seat tilted back the shoulder belt is slightly ahead of my shoulder.
Its probably not the best but I can't stand a tight belt.
Its a risk I'm ok with.
When I was 16 I had a wreck. Totaled the car. No seat belt on.
I hit the steering wheel with my chest and the windshield with my head.
I didn't like that. I've worn my seat belt ever since.
