FYI the poll is in the upper left corner - two radio buttons.

I wanted to vote for the Delorean with the "Mr Fusion Home Energy Unit" but that wasn't a choice!

Good lord w/the green washing on that poll... "Clean Burning Jetta". <sigh>

With a tier 2 bin 5 (6 out of 10 on the EPA air pollution score) rating, they may as well label virtually all currently sold gasoline powered cars as "clean burning".

That page is a Jetta ad and a VW ad, it is so paid for by VW. The videos are rediculous. I hope I never hear of Toyota stooping to these low belly dragging tactics.

You know, we should make our own counter video...w/SKS it takes what, 3-4 seconds to open the door, sit down, hit the power, get in ready and start moving? 5 seconds tops.

With a key and a shifter I don't think you could do it faster.

Voted. What a bunch of idiots. I'll take my "appliance" to their greenwashed cinder-spewer with VW's reputation for quality any day!

Whew! it felt good to get that out!

If we do, let's make them fun:

    SCRIPT - #1

Father drives up to house, "Hey, isn't that Chreyl's friend Prius, Bob? He sure is a bright kid with a fuel efficient Prius and must be doin' good."

Switch to front of the house as the Father opens back door, a light comes on in the front room and a teenaged girl screams, "Daddy! No!"

A young man bursts out the door sans shirt, bare feet, in underwear, and holding his pants running to the Prius. Just as he reaches the car, it unlocks, he hops in, presses "Start" and just then the Father bursts out the front door with a shotgun. The Prius speeds off and the Father glaring down the road is reduced to shooting the sky ... fade to black

"Prius smart key technology ... don't get shot!"

    SCRIPT - #2

A Jetta owner is at the pump in the middle of a city and the background has the sound of 'bing' as the pump runs. The Jetta owner says,

"I sure love my fuel efficient Jetta diesel. It gets great highway mileage and is clean enough to breath. Just like that Prius over there ..."

Cut to inside the Prius as the driver looks over at the gas station and says, "Humm, I need to remember to get some gas next week." ... fade to black

    EPA: 48 City, 45 Highway, 46 Combined
Remember, you'll eventually have to buy some gas.

    SCRIPT #3

Prius driving along with a passenger who shouts,

"GOSH THANKS FOR THE RIDE NEIGHBOR. I JUST HAD MY FREE MAINTENANCE WORK DONE AND NEEDED A LIFT TO THE DEALER."

The Prius driver replies in a quiet but well understood voice,

"No problem, after all that is what good neighbors do for each other. It is part of being a good steward to the earth and neighbors. By the way, I understand you have a low emissions car too?"

    The passenger shouts back,

"YES, I HAVE ONE OF THOSE CLEAN CARS THAT GETS GREAT MILEAGE WHEN WE TAKE VACATION OR WEEKEND TRIPS!"

    The Prius driver replies back,

"That sounds great. Is it a diesel?"

    The passenger shouts back,

"WHY YES! HOW DID YOU GUESS?"

    fade to black

    Prius, preserves hearing.

Perhaps "Team Prius" might share it with some of their friends? <GRINS>

I feel sorry for those guys. Also kind of embarrassed for them especially in regards to their misguided claims and usual diesel headed boasting.
They even had a rough start by having claimed the TDI owned the US 48 state FE record.
Wayne set them on the right path soon after in this post...
By now, they are probably wishing they had not embarked on this pointless trip, since it will just amount to nothing more sightseeing and preaching to the usual choir. :p

Oh yeah, in addition to idiotically mocking the Prius by calling it an appliance I am sure they'll be producing the worst FE numbers possible. I would not put it past them since we all know the Prius is head and shoulders above the TDI in almost every area. :(

    Cheers;

    MSantos
