I've tried matchmakers. Got a few "introductions" that went nowhere.

I didn't realize my profile was still on eHarmony. I dropped that one because they require you to select exactly ten items from their "must have" and "can't stand" lists. You cannot enter your own items, and you cannot select less then ten. If you only select 5, or 9, they will not let you continue. There are not ten items on either of those lists I could honestly select. I would have to lie to be acceptable to them.

So I never finished the application. I didn't realize they even made my profile available. I'll have to see if I remember my password and delete the profile. I'm listed on several other on-line dating sites, though, even though I get no replies.

I didn't post the number of years I've been with my wife because I was expecting to win a longest married contest. :D It was more to say that I started dating my wife as a senior in high school so I have no personal "adult" dating experience. From talking with some single friends and co-workers it does seem to be a very frustrating process.

Both our parents have been married for more than 30 years so that might be part of it. On the other hand, both my parents were raised by single-mothers and my mother-in-law was raised by foster parents during her teen years.

I didn't think you would want a contest. There are some older people on this forum, and some of them would put even my record to shame.

Just because you met your wife in high school doesn't mean that you don't have any adult dating experience. :D:heh::evil::noidea::wub:

Sorry. Don't tell my wife I said that. Oh, wait a minute. She's the shameless flirt in our family.

Apparently, not everybody understands my weirdo deranged sense of humor. Um .... baaaaa?

Overall the stats are pretty bad

I've just never had that "spark" with a gal but at least I'm honest about it. It wouldn't be fair to a woman - or to me - to rush off into a fairly complex legal agreement. At least I'm fixed so I don't have to worry about progeny

Doesn't mean that I have contempt for women. I actually like women, very very much. The only disturbing part is now I have middle aged married housewives showing interest. Curse my superior reproductive organ, curse it I say!

It's also entirely possible to have love and peace in the mid east, with Jewish and Arab men openly French Kissing on street corners. It's even entirely possible for the earth to crash back into the sun. I'm not holding my breath waiting for it ...

    <sigh>

No "bad" experiences that I can recall. Actually, incredibly awesome GREAT sex, with two consenting adults who knew what they were getting into:

    Woman: Hi!

    Me: Hi!

    Woman: Wanna do it?

    Me: Okey pokey!

    Woman: Your place or mine?

    Me: Yes!

    Woman: Okey pokey!

Fade to background music, either Metamorfose Ambulante by Raul Seixas; or, No Caminho do Bem, by Tim Maia

Actually very little drinking involved ... I had my mind on other things

That proves that a loving, supportive single parent, and loving supportive foster parents, are a *good* thing!

What? She told you about that quick overseas flight to Singapore while you were in Detroit!? I told her to never, EVER blab about it!

I now wish I hadn't blown so much on her flight ....

So, our cruise documents arrived yesterday. :)

The cruise lines are dropping fares like crazy, in hopes of getting people onboard, where they will then spend more money on 'fun' things, like booze, and gambling, and duty-free shopping.

Unfortunately for them, we bring our own wine, I don't generally gamble, and I'm not much of a shopper. However, I will be enjoying myself immensely laying in the sun, eating fresh food, and being treated like royalty! :p

Speaking of I have money and will spend it, I'm getting the tires on my car replaced. Mostly because even though there is tread life left the sheer age of the tires (they were installed in 2003!) meant the rubber quality is no longer good enough for road use.

that is true. they recommend replacing tires either when they are down to 3/32nd tread depth or in 5-7 years which is ever first. cracks in the rubber is a good indicator that the rubber is starting to age

but not sure that that would be in the spirit of this post. that is like buying gas (which we do our best to NO DO!!) or heating your house. not a real luxury purchase
