No it's not a new culinary treat it's the diagnosis of why my A/C wasn't working.

Beats why I was finding out was about an $8,000 cost to replace it.

    Fried rodent removal - $75

    The Bunny smiled on me.

So they got your AC back up and running without the $8K payout...

    :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Now you just need to seal up the unit enough to reduce the chance of them returning...

That is an issue. I haven't gone around the side of the house to see if they left the body for my inspection but I doubt I'm lucky enough for it to be the possum that I saw back there a while ago. Probably too big to get into the A/C compressor damnit.

That's why I'm keeping my plans for the possum to myself.

Mice can squeeze into the tiniest spaces. The potential for damage is pretty high

Especially if the little bugger starts gnawing on the control board wiring

Maybe the mousie slowly electrocuted itself over a period of hours

I hate to admit it but I'm thinking rat. Rumor has it if you've got palm trees you have rats and I have palm trees. I also have way to many squirrels. But please, please let it have been the possum.

And for the possum maybe I don't have to buy a cross-bow

"An opossum can safely be trapped by leaning an empty, tall kitchen trash can at approximately a 30-45º angle against something the opossum can climb onto such as a stack of books. Place cat food or ripe fruit at the bottom of the trash can. The opossum will be able to climb into the trash can but will be unable to climb or jump out"

Let's hope that was the extent of the Rat/Mouse/Possum attack

Actually, tiny spiders love to nest inside condensers. Every summer, before I fire up the A/C for the first time of the season, I take the covers off and use a safe computer duster product to blow out the control board, and especially the capacitor connectors and relays

I thought all of the spiders nested on our sailboat.

Did you know that spider droppings are more resilient than the best varnish or epoxy? Honestly, it's amazing how hard they are. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is about the only thing I have found that will remove them from white paint, without also removing the paint.

I thought they were all living under the wooden barrel that my GF bought at a garage sale a few years ago. Now they are inside my Explorer because I tried to give the barrel to Goodwill this afternoon to get it off our front porch.

The guy at Goodwill wouldn't accept it. "We only accept stuff we can sell."

I told him he should have been there to tell my GF not to buy it, I tried but couldn't convince her.

She was mad at me for trying to get rid of it. She thinks its valuable.

Would it really cost $8000 to replace the rodent? What caused it to fry, did it short circuit? Where is the rodent normally in the air conditioning system? What protections are built into the system to prevent the rodent from frying? If the system will run without the rodent why was it put in the system in the first place?
Too many questions, so little time.

Christ, Pat, don't you know anything about air conditioning units? The rodent is normally installed inside the treadmill wheel, where it provides power for the unit.
