Replacing the Prius cargo carpet

If you are not picky on the appearance then any generic cargo mat would serve the purpose. I like the clear type myself (see picture below). If you insist on the factory carpet then your local Toyota dealer will be happy to help I am sure. Good luck!

Hhmm....I'm having a hard time picturing what you mean. My 2009 has the carpeting as part of the hinged "lid" that covers the storage compartment over the spare tire well, as well as the left and right rear wheel well storage (the right one contains the 12v battery).

My car also came with a cargo mat, which was a separate form-fitting carpet that covered the entire cargo area. It was the same material as the carpeting OEM floor mats.

I did not see any particle board; it appears as though my cargo carpeting is glued onto the plastic panels that make up the cargo storage lids. So maybe that changed after the 2007 model.

Two easier options that you may have than replacing the carpet:

1. purchase the OEM cargo mat, which will completely cover the cargo area, and looks just like the original vehicle carpeting.
2. purchase an aftermarket mat, like the one below:

You do not "replace" that carpet that's glued to the floor. There's an OEM loose carpeted cargo mat that goes over that carpet that's glued to the floor. This OEM carpeted cargo mat costs $78 (including shipping) at the PriusChat Store:

I bought the rear cargo cover from there and it's pretty good. Covers the rear of the back seats also so they stay clean too....
