It started with soft kitty porn at icanhascheezburger.com and before I knew it was crusing adoption and fostering sites. Then Sunday it happened. I used my first cat. The purring did it. I'm hooked and I'm on a path I can't stop. I know eventually I'll end up at a shelter with my checkbook. What's worse is I'm "thinking why stop at one. Wouldn't a pair be nice?". The addict in me is saying "Get 2, they can play with each other during the day". I'm one sex change operation away from becomming the crazy cat lady.
Two cats are definitely better. There is nothing to be ashamed of. Cats are good. They keep the mice away and the cat hair will increase the R value of your carpets. When I was at FCI Sandstone I was probably the only person in the history of the place to have pin-up pictures of cats instead of girls. Don't get me wrong. I like girls. But pictures of girls in that place just made me feel lonely. Pictures of cats were comforting. When you don't have scotch tape or glue, you can stick pictures to the wall with toothpaste. The guards hate having to scrape the toothpaste off the walls, but who gives a f*** about guards?
I gave up cats when I found them increasingly difficult to roll. I found the claws were a hazard to the paper and even when I managed to get one rolled I had a lot of trouble lighting them. Then when they burn they make so much noise!! Me bloody ow, yourself! I've given them away now, no more cats for me. Of course I am joking.
How many operations have you had so far? Its ok to love your pets, as long as you don't make love to your pets. Cats, goats, sheep - it doesn't matter. Don't f#ck your pets.
Jayman definitely has very nice pussies! Cats are excellent companions. I'm both a dog person and a cat person, but I do think that cats are underrated in terms of providing good companionship and attaching to their owners (sometimes literally).
You should have just kept that kitten. Most likely, you would have looked after it far better than the home down the block it went back to Having two cats is actually better than just one: they tend to become friends and will play together
Toothpaste also makes a great emergency pinhole drywall repair tool. Why invest in pricey drywall compounds when a bit of white toothpaste will cover up pinholes left by thumbtacks, especially on an apartment wall
Hi Dave! We had 2 cats for years (we got the second one as a companion for the first). One was 'rescued' from my workplace and the second from my wife's workplace. We had Hobbes for over 19 years (July 2008) and Mugsy for almost 15 (December 2006). They led typical house cat lives w/ the exception of occasionally going out in the back yard (leashes attached to runners at the base of our big tree). They had enough room to explore w/o getting away and into trouble. We still miss them, but know that we gave them a much better/longer life than they would have had on their own. Greg
You should *never* give me an opening line like that! I'm sure Tony and Evan will breathe a sigh of relief to discover I'm very wisely not going to do anything with that opening line
I know, I know, I shouldn't have. Anyway, per Dave's situation--adopting a cat or two is an excellent thing to do right now. The recession is hitting pets hard. People are giving them up in greater numbers and shelters are getting less $$. Getting a cat (or 2) is just The Right Thing to Do For America.
Well, we have 4. Madison, Purebred Maine Coon, Muffin, Purebred Norweigan Forrest Cat, Squeak, a stray who showed up and we adopted, and Meesie, another stray that came with the house when I bought it many years ago!! They are for the most part well behaved, although Meesie has gone Deaf and Blind, but she can still find all the places she needs to find, Food, Bathroom, My chair to Sleep in. She is relatively happy, and Purr's louder that the rest of them!!! The other 3 just run around and have fun, sleep, eat! Life Is GOOD!!!
