I am sure your new cat will be OK. But it sucks that those manufacturers show so little concern for pets.

By the way, I admire the way you've disguised a thread about a cat inside a more "manly" appearing post about a chainsaw. Nice!

Kittens and chainsaws in the same post is rarely a good thing.

I tortured that poor lovely little cat without knowing it :(

Just so you know. Before the cat showed up I was going to finish my chainsawing activity and then go buy an AK-47 incase of an assult weapon ban. I'm can be a soft touch for kittens but still a manly man.

Seriously, I was. The one gun I have hasn't been fired in 20 years and could be more of a danger to me than anyone in front of it. I live in Florida, I need to keep up with the Jonse's armaments.

    I'm a catnaper, maybe.

She finally tenatively went out when offered tonight.I had to walk with her to the end of the driveway but then she got her berrings and trotted off down the street and up a walkway like she knew where she was going. I went to check on here and she was there saying hello to another cat in the bushes and there was some dry food outside. I knew a big lab lives down there and he barked like mad at me when I rang the bell, he hadn't barked at the cats.

Nobody's home there right now. I've seen the other cat hunting in my back yard and even once up on my roof. She's been aroung for a long while. I don't know if the woman who lives there is just feeding strays or is officially their owner. If she owns them she's not caring for them well, the visiting kitty has fleas, a skin disease under one eye and probably the worms that were mentioned above because she was constantly chewing at biting down there.

I'll go ask when I see her home but kitty appears to be happy with her buddy cat.

I never encourage my cats to go outside. The younger one still shows an interest in an open door, and will try to sneak out. The older one could care less, the house is *much* nicer than the scary outdoors

Between cars, coyotes, and owls, outdoor cats in this area have a short life expectancy. Add in crawling and biting things, and indoor cats are a much better idea. Our previous cat had been a stray, so he absolutely insisted on going out, regardless of the weather. We had to treat him continuously for fleas and worms.

Our current cat is an indoor sissy. She peeks out of the windows and then runs when a truck goes by.

My neighbour told me they saw a strange creature in their back yard, it was like a mouse with a long nose, big ears and it hopped along. I told them it was a marsupial hopping mouse and they are native to the area. Now one of those bloody cats wandering at large will most likely kill the little bugger, damn those cats owners!!

I had to make sure incase she had a home.

She was fairly talkative all the time but especially so when I got home last night so I wanted to see if she had somewhere to go. She did. I'm just not sure if it was home or to visit a cat friend.
