You'll need a wire cutter (at least 3mm), 200-300 hog rings and a hog ring pliers.

 

Thanks everyone for suggestions. I got hog rings yesterday and redid the whole lower backseat.

I forgot to reuse the metal wires from the fabric so I needed to redo anyway. The wires go at the edges of the cover so you are crimping two wires (one wire embedded in the foam and another from the seat cover) with the hog ring.

Here are the pics I took. I kind of like the two tones effects going on. One unexpected thing that came out of this is the seat belt buckle. It is tan color so it is standing out!

I found these hog ring pliers on amazon which are super cheap. Think they can do the job?

It would work but it won't be good. The hog rings edges are not sharp. The pliers is not spring loaded so you'll have to open it by hand every time.

Thanks for this valuable info! I wouldn't have picked that out of the assembly drawings, and might have missed it while disassembling the cloth cover.

Your back seat bottom looks absolutely factory! :first:

No wrinkles - amazing! Leather can be formed, but it isn't streatchy like fabric. Some minor gathering is to be expected. Yours shows excellent installation, plus is an indication of just how good these kits are.

As for the 2-tone - are you going to pick up seat belts from a salvage or stick with the tan to coordinate with the rest of the interior? I will probably have a small amount of 2-tone in that I may keep the original gray ultra-suede arm rests and center console cover because I like the feel of them. Not sure until I get the seats done. My kit is in transit with an estimated delivery of tomorrow (Friday). That will give me a weekend to tackle this.

 

Sorry, 200-300 is estimate (based on the PDF) for everything. The rear bottom seat probably has around 60.

 

That's for the whole installation. I did a quick count in the assembly instructions posted in this thread and came up with roughly 150, so 200-300 would be a good idea. Not all hog rings are equal - there are light steel, copper, some are sharp, some dull. If you can find them the ones with sharp ends are best for upholstery, but farm supplies often carry the dull ones for doing fences. Plus there are different sizes, so make sure the size you get works with the pliers you buy. I'm off this afternoon on a hog-ring and pliers quest myself.

I'm not installing heaters but I am installing the Rostra inflatable bladder kit (250-1454 front) for lumbar support. Going to try the drivers side first and if it adds a lot to the comfort of the seat, will purchase a second unit for the passenger side. I got the kit from Brandon Distributing (brandondist dot com) for $81.34 and $10.09 shipping. they delivered it in just a few days.

They also have the heater kits for around $103 plus shipping.

Just got my set today... the leather is great and high quality. Definitely a huge bargain at $150.

I installed the rear and front headrests... I have to say they weren't entirely a piece of cake. I broke a sweat or two trying to fit them in snug. =P I attached the console leather piece to the console like a clip-on... it seems to work just fine that way. Less work for me too, lol.

 

Damn... pics look good. Do they have any cheap kits like this for an '05?

The clips in the back fits? Mine seems too short and can't hook the factory top.
