With all the discussion of the best way to integrate your iPod/Phone with the 2010 Prius, I think Toyota should partner with Apple to make a special edition iPrius. The iPrius would include:

    • Full interface with iPhones and iPods.
    • The Solar panel (available only on the iPrius IV:)) would charge your iphone, ipod, and MacBook Pro.
    • Tired of lurking outside of indy coffee shops and Apple Stores looking for free wi-fi? The iPrius would create its own Wi-Fi Hotspot so you can access the Internet from your car. When traveling, just park your iPrius next to your motel room for in-room Internet access.
    • Several iPriuses could be grouped together to form mobile outdoor coffee shops.
    • The iPrius would include a 1 terabyte back-up server to back up all your data, itunes, etc., complete with iAirbags to protect the server in case of a collision.
    • iTunes playlists could be uploaded to the iPrius and accessed from the dashboard or the optional iSteeringWheel (fashioned after the iPod wheel), so you don't really need to carry your iPod around.
    • Advanced features would include an iSensor that can tailor music based on your passengers. Includes the patent-pending iMOM technology that sensors your playlist to omit any offending music for which Mom would not approve, and the iMarvin that switches to Marvin Gaye when the iPrius senses you're on a promising date.
    • Tired of the limited Prius colors? The iPrius comes in basic white with customizable and interchangeable Skins!
Oh, and best of all...the iPrius never crashes:)

Considering the technology required for the above - would need a collaboration of Toyota, Apple, and Microsoft. Oh! forget about Microsoft - you mentioned no crashes....

Yes, the aptly named "Pre-Collision Avoidance System" is predicated on not allowing any Windows Installations (except for water repellent glass), in order to avoid 'crashes'...

    :deadhorse:

Alright, bad joke, but I tried. I need to do something to keep me busy until my new baby arrives... (the car, that is)

    Cool sign me up......

The only thing missing is the iNav. The all new way to navigate the iPrius. With upgradable voices and commands all availible via the integrated iTunes.
(Yes, the end of the annoying woman that repeats herself all the time and trys to send you the wrong way when you know that this is the quickest route)

    Nice idea, but

    1) Apple would charge about $10k for the hardware,
    2) You'd have to use the iTunes interface to update media,
    3) It would only be available in white, and
    4) About a year after you got it, a new version would appear, rendering your purchase uncool.
