    Blizzard White Prius V.jpg

At my dealer in the Twin Cities, I test drove a Black Prius III with light grey cloth interior. No Nav, or other options besides floormats. I also saw and sat in a Blizzard Pearl Prius V (note the 17" rims) with bisque leather interior and Navigation... that one was just over $30,000.

I enjoyed the Prius III. We drove it in power, eco and EV modes. The Eco and EV modes reduced the A/C, but not rendering it useless... and it was hot here today: 93! The ride was good, and the chassis seemed to be more solid/robust than our current 2008. It was quiet and drove like I expected it would. The driver's seat adjusts every way, and I think, slides too far back! I'm tall 6' 4" and a big guy, but I didn't need it that far back. I also like the tilt/tele steering. I think the console is alright, not a problem. The display at the top of the dash seems a little more organic in flow than in the pictures that I've seen, at least. I think it will take a little getting used to, but will be fine. (My current car is a smart fortwo) This interior was the misty grey cloth. I like the two-toned style of the interior. The door armrests and the console had a darker grey cloth on them. The Prius V had bisque leather, and I liked that combo (colorwise) a little better, less monotone. But I would settle for either.

I think the Blizzard Pearl is a great color, and that is what I have on order: Blizzard Pearl Prius III w/Nav.

It was great to see it in person today. Thanks to the best salesperson I've dealt with, Nancy at RLTS!

    Thanks for the note.
Here are three more pics of the Blizzard Pearl. I hope you can see the sheen of this metallic finish in the sun. It is really nice. Also... this one was truly just off the truck and dusty, but it didn't show. You could see the dirt on the glass and feel the dust on the body, but it really didn't show. Should be easier on the carwash bill!

Oh, HELLZ YEAH! Man I REALLY cannot wait for this car to show up already... From the day we found out the colors I knew I wanted that Blizzard Pearl, I think it'll be a popular choice this generation...

I'm not a big white car fan, but it does look nice. It appears to be the same pearl finish you see on a lot of Lexus vehicles.

Me too, I really am not a white car person but pearl coats are just different imo, and this Blizzard Pearl really pops. It's got a whiter than normal pearl color with a blue hue to it. MUCH nicer than the yellowish pearl coat I had on my Acura back in 03'...

So is the extra $$$ for Blizzard Pearl worth the bucks? Why does Toyota charge extra for this color? Is it because of popularity or is this a better paint?

I have a 20 yr old White Acura and it does look as good as new.

It has more coats of paint to give it that pearl effect thus costing more money. $220 is cheap for a pearl coat, other companies charge considerably more and imo their pearl colors are not as bright and nice. They make them too 'yellow' or off white for me.

omg... your pictures did NOT HELP ME!!

I thought I was set on Blue Ribbon Metallic and now you've got me debating between Blizzard Pearl and Blue Ribbon....

Winebuff's Blue Ribbon with the SPM looks great but this white has such a nice sheen to it. I'm not a white colour car person (never owned a white car) and I'm familiar with Blizzard Pearl (it is offered on the Sienna and RAV4 after all and more recently the Highlander and Yaris and 50th Anniversary Camry Hybrid) but man... you can see reflections on the hood (kinda hard with a white colour)

I have an Infiniti EX and it is a pearl like white color and is gorgeous. It has the self healing paint so minor scratches disappear. The only bad thing about the color is during the summer months, the dead bugs make a mess on the bumper and mirrors. I need to scrub clean every week or it looks terrible. The rest of the year the car looks great and hides dirt very well and always looks clean.

That goes for most colours except black or dark grey (unless the bug juice is yellow or bright green! I had some interesting bugs on the front of my car when I drove across the country. It was not pleasant).

But I've always wanted a blue car and Toyota's finally offered a blue in my favourite car. (they've dropped the Blue Ribbon in the Camry in Canada and the Corolla doesn't have a dark blue that's available elsewhere, only Blue Streak Metallic on the XRS model).

This is exactly why I picked the Blizzard Pearl color after seeing how dirty the Blue Ribbon looked w/ just a minor layer of dust.

As for the cost, Blizzard Pearl is a 3 layer/coat paint vs. a 1 or 2 coat for the other colors.

Who has had the pleasure of comparing the Prius II, III, or IV against the V? I would really like to hear some comparisons.

whoever was in LA. There was a Prius II in Barcelona Red, a Prius IV w/SPM in BlueRM, a Prius V ATP in Winter Grey, Prius III in Sandy Beige and a black Prius of unknown package (cause I didn't ride in it and therefore had no idea what model it is). There was also a BlueRM Prius V ATP.

Just test droved a Blizzard Pearl IV without Nav, today. I think it is one of the first to come into the Chicagoland area. Try all three driving modes, Eco was really slow and feels like you are driving a very underpower car. The Reg mode felt fine for every day driving, no real lag at all and what you would expect from a small economy car. The power mode felt very responsive and really impressed me in its accelaration (I am currently driving a Infiniti M35). Overall a very solid feeling car for it's size.

Can't wait for my Blue Ribbon V with AT, however, I also thought that the Blizzard Pearl look really nice, it was my third choice of color, but I may move that up to my second choice now.:)

More coats of paint? Hmm, that sounds nice as a barrier for all that salt from the ocean...
