I was in my RAV instead of my prius so I don't know if that made a difference. I was going 65 in the fast lane, but was doing so because there was a cop in 3 car lengths behind us in the slow lane. Anyways, this prius ahole tailgated me for about 1 mile, so I pulled over one lane and said to my wife, "watch this prius ahole get ticketed." He pulled past me at around 70 mph. Needless to say, the cop pulled him over. It was nice.

I dont know where people get the idea that the left lane is the fast lane. It's really the "passing lane". So, my question is to you and all those who seem to think they own the "passing lane'" is why are you hovering in the "passing lane"?

I have been to LAX which is in California but that was back in January. Of course I might have the ability to instantly move through space and time even though I might not be aware of this ability.

It seems like all gloves are off. Just last week I got a speeding ticket in my Prius. The CHP couldn't believe a Prius could even go 96mph, so he gave me a break and wrote me up for only 10mph over instead of the 31mph he clocked me at. I was polite.

we got tagged going 10mph over yesterday, but only got fix-it tickets for
    1) lack of front license plate
    2) something covering the rear license plate
    3) radar detector obstructing view (oops)
but not the illegal tint... heh. that was possibly the nicest state trooper we've encountered.

Well I would have sped up but I didn't because of the cop. Does that make sense? I guess it didn't make sense to the prius behind me, so I let him pass and he got ticketed.

I have my Scanguage II ready to counter any speeding pullovers from the police as it registers max mph by trip. So, even if I am speeding and get caught I just reset the stats as soon as I see him hit the lights, slow down to an acceptable speed and show him my "new" max speed on the SGII making him think he improperly pulled me over.

I don't speed at all but sometimes on neutral coasts down hills I like to go 5-10 mph over the limit to not impede my coast. Should there be a cop at the bottom of the hill (like there is 5 out of 10 times on my commute to work) I can quickly reset my SGII to capture a more reasonable speed and hope he gets overwhelmed with the technology in my car.

Hopefully I never have to use it but I'm ready should the opportunity arrise.

So he wasn't paying attention when another CHP officer busted the son of a prominent ex-VP / Nobel prize winner / AGW activist for, among other things, doing 106 mph in a Prius?

That activist has a faster car than mine. Sapphire only tops out at 104.

A google search finds that the suffix on this person's name is 'III', not "Junior'. And the news refers to "about 100 mph", so my memory of a non-round number must be corrupted. But I do remember Jay Leno pointing that for most people, the important part of this story was not the relative-of-a-celebrity who was busted, but that a Prius could go that fast.
