Can't get a V with only Nav in So Cal?

So here's my problem. I want a black Prius V with just Nav, no AT package because of the extra cost. But it appears the Vs in Southern California will ONLY come with the AT package. Even the build your own page on the Toyota website zaps the Nav only option when you use a Los Angeles or San Diego zip code.

    Any suggestions?

And if the suggestion is to go to Northern California or Nevada, can you suggest a dealer?

    Thanks.

Try different zip codes on the build page and see if it shows up the way you want it in Northern Cali. If not try zip codes for states nearby to you. Unfortunately, for now, that's probably the route you would have to go to find the vehicle. Toyota did say that down the road more configurations may become available to regions but it is not a guarantee...

Good luck in your search, I do hope you find the car you want w/o a long wait!

Right now, the Prius V is requiring a technology package. I betcha I can get what you want built. It's approx a 90-120 day wait, and can probably should be done asap if you want a car around summer's end. It's not just SoCal - it's across the USA so far that the Prius V is tech package only. At least for now, but I am no stranger to building cars for folks as custom orders.

I have a V waiting at port in the SF Bay Area with only Nav in B. Pearl.
I don't think there is any base V models in the initial shipments, at least for N. CA, but I am not 100% sure of that.

A local Sacramento dealer E-Mailed me that he is receiving 3 1229's with Nav, but it looks like they all have the VIP security added. PM me if you need the info.

What do you mean by that? Are you saying that you can have a Prius built that has a different combination of features than the 10 configurations that Toyota has announced? For example, can you order a Prius iv with sunroof but not Nav?

If so, that would be contrary to what the Prius team has been saying for months.

Or are you saying that eventually you can get one of the announced configurations that are currently not available in your area?

She's stating the latter. Nobody's going to be able to request a Prius V w/ Solar (at least this year) ;)

How about my example of a iv with solar but no nav?

Solar package includes NAV. There is no provision to break them apart.

What she's saying is that despite not all regions having all 10 combos available, she could possibly special order the combo of your choice. Make sense?

The concept makes sense but it is different from the impression that I have gotten from the Prius Team and other dealers who say that the normal procedure is for your dealer to find a dealer in another region who has a car with your desired configuration in their allocation and make a swap.

It makes it sound like she has special pull to get special orders when others don't. The 90 days comment, especially, gives the impression that it is being specially made or at least allocated to her from Toyota in Japan (sort of like the priority program cars were).

By the way, here in Colorado, and I believe in Arizona, Toyota's web page does allow building A V with Nav and no AT.

Yes, but the swappage only works when the cars built that way are coming to the same PORT as me. That narrows the field tremendously. I can't swap in transit unless the car's at Long Beach. I can swap when a car's on ground but then we pay for drivers or transport - and that's pricy.

I can get special orders done on all cars - even 4Runners, Rav4's and anything we build.

    Dianne,

Final (2 part) question. Can you order a configuration other that the 10 that Toyota has announced for the U.S. and can any dealer put in such an order? Thanks. (I would be happy to order from you If I lived a little closer).

It depends on what you mean by "other than...."
If you mean a 5 with sunroof, then no... what do you refer to?

My wish is a IV with sunroof but no NAV. Also, I would love the "Canadian style" backup camera with the backup screen in the rear view mirror. I don't actually expect to be able to get these options, just trying to understand what you can and cannot do.

Since the SR (sunroof) package REQUIRES the NAV package, for whatever reason it does, wiring, whatever - then I can't do it. You can have NAV with no sunroof, but you can't have the sunroof w/o NAV.
    That can't be done.
And, the back up camera in the Prius = a back up screen that's used in the NAV.

Those are two fixed things I cannot change.
    I'm sorry!!

That's strange. My local dealer in Denver called me to see if I was interested in a package V with nav (blizzard pearl) but I turned it down because it doesn't have the advanced technology package. They do exist.

Yep, it certainly appears this ATP only V is a Southern California phenomena. Good to know that a Nav only V can be gotten. Now the question is how.

    Victory!

The amazing Dianne Whitmire (DianneWhitmire) of Manhattan Beach Toyota had done what every other SoCal dealer said couldn't be done, and that was to find me my black V with just nav. Woo hoo!

Better yet. I was prepared to wait months... I will have it in weeks.

    THANK YOU Dianne.

My V with nav is supposedly going to be delivered ~6/30. Very few Vs in PA so far, but more with nav than AT.
