What is taking so long, I have called around to about 6 dealers? Most are saying two more weeks, some are saying a few more months…GST Build to Order has cars listed for 3 days now. I am trying to find one so I can see it with my own eyes, if GST going to be this slow put some in a few shopping malls around major cities or something so we can look at it.:pound:

Don't bother to venture over to your neighboring SET Region...

I think GST and SET execs went to the same "Screw 'em" 301 Marketing class. I hear these are the only 2 U.S. Regions that abide by that principle. That dog won't hunt for me - if that's the case, I will buy up north. I'm fortunate to have that flexibility. Good luck....

Need to start looking in other Regions I guess.

GST Region = Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Mississippi.
    What are the others?

What do these acronyms stand for? I think where I am, Maryland-Virginia-DC, is one of the last areas to receive the 2010.

I live in New Orleans, and most of the local dealers are either: clueless, or they give me retarded replies like: "Not til next year" or "We may not see them til the end of the summer" I call BS on most of it. They just wanna get me into an 09 beings they're getting rid of them.

Luckily, the dealership I will be buying from (Ray Brandt Toyota) has been helpful this year. The last I was told (this was 2 1/2 - 3 weeks ago), was that they would be receiving some in early-to-mid June. (Which was the targeted release date to begin with, I believe.) I do not know how many/what models they will be receiving. They don't have many 08's/09s left. Last time I checked the website, there were only 12 left. That's definitely a good sign. I was told by my dealer that the Gulf Coast area is usually pretty slow when it comes to this stuff.

One last note: The online customization tool still gives me a 2009 instead the new, sleek 2010 themed config tool. But, I'm staying happy and hopeful. We're gonna see them soon, fellow southerners. ;)

Until then, lets have a ROCK-PAPER-SCISSORS tournament!! :D

Go west young man! Chicagoland and the west coast seem to have spares. Us poor Yanks have yet to see one, although we have hope for next week. Rumor from a Toyota salesperson today as that the region was allocated 200 cars for 72 dealerships. Those aren't good odds for one being available anywhere given the pre-orders.

I'm going to post a separate thread stating my willingness to show up with my car if someone wants to arrange a Houston PriusChat meet up.

GST and SET are the only "Distributor" regions left. Everyone else in the country deals directly with Toyota. That is why we are getting are cars a little faster.. aside from NE region due to travel times.

And naming the other regions that apply to states isn't as simple. For instance, half of Iowa is in one region, the other half in another. I *think* there are 14 total regions though. I don't know why that number is popping into my head though. I'll try and check tomorrow and get you an answer

You're in our region which is CAT ( Central Atlantic Toyota ). The reason that the EC is slow to get their vehicles is simply due to logistics. It takes an additional 2 weeks for the vessels to go from Japan to the EC than from Japan to the WC.

Our first vehicles just docked in NY. From there they will be shipped from Maine to Buffalo to WV to our store in SE Virgina on the N Carolina border.

Patience is a virture they say...

Are they skipping Maryland/DC/Northern VA :(? When do you think they'll reach WV?

I don't have anything on order, but I would really like to see the 2010s in person soon.

No of course not. I was drawing a perimeter. It's all the states from Maine to VA and as far west as WV that have vehicles on the vessel that just arrived in NY.

In CAT in this first group there are about 125 vehicles for about 150 stores. More to come shortly afterward.

I was looking at the Build your prius site for my zip code in the GST. Finally some III's are showing up; however, the options they are putting on them are crap I could care less about.

the cheapest III that they are offering on the locator is 27,557 and goes up to 30,743 due to the options.

The 27,557 has the Navi package and things like door sill enhancements, vehicle shield package color keyed door edge guards and owners reward package.

There is another in the 27,000 range that has a leather seat upgrade along with all the stuff I mentioned above. Why would I buy a III if I wanted leather seats when I could just get a IV with more features for around the same price?

The 30,743 has a solar roof, but they also added the remote start feature along with all that other junk and an 1,800 owners reward package and a security system upgrade. why the heck would you want a remote start if you already have the remote A/C as part of the solar package?

Anyways, I have a feeling this type of BS is going to really turn me off as any dealer in my region is going to be partaking in the options game at port...:(

Where is the nearest state to the Dallas area that isn't GST or SET?

I'm considering driving to Tennessee for mine. It's a 5 hour drive from New Orleans to Memphis. The local dealers here are getting cars with tons of worthless add-ons and refusing to budge on price. I won't bend over for anybody.

Here in Hawaii, it's like we're the red-headed stepchild of Toyota. No indication on prices or available options yet from a visit to the showroom, let alone seeing a Prius 2010 live. In fact, between the Toyota Hawaii website showing 2009 models and the Servco Auto Center site not returning any vehicles in stock regardless of what you select, I'm not looking to be able to test drive a new Prius until Fall. To add to my pity party, when I tried to sign up for information, just information mind you, for the upcoming Lexus HS250H, Hawaii was not listed. It's wrong, I tell ya. WRONG!
