Is there better/thicker padding on the center armrest than the Gen II Prius?

Jeff at Pauly made this by far the easiest car purchase I have ever done. I only dealt with him, and the finance lady Nan and both were outstanding. The other guys in the dealership were like a fraternity (taking jabs at each other, talking sports, good humored) and there was a "family" atmosphere. They were excited for me, and wanted me to report the MPG.

It's one of the bigger dealerships I've been to. The whole process took some time even though I was paying cash. I'd say it took about 2.5 hours including the test drive.

So from my experience I have no reservations recommending Jeff or Pauly Toyota.

$26,661 with the $200 mats. I still have to pay TN taxes, etc... I wasn't pushing for any deals. Jeff gives a discount to Priuschat members, there is a $150 doc fee, and a $10 fee since I was not in a reciprocal state. I feel the car is worth that so I'm not looking back.

I did get $12,500 from my insurance on my 2003 Acura CL with 58K miles.

Umm did you just call me a "big nice person" ? :p

Yeah, maybe a little more history on me is in order. I do have a hunch back and a slight case of scoliosis, so if I'm not sitting "right" it can be aggravated. I'm 6'1" and half of that is my torso (my chiropractor comments on this all the time). True my report was from my perspective (who else right). I hoped to shed some light on the other items I never recall hearing about and to announce what I felt needed work so I didn't look like a shill.

Jeff, big thanks...my son took ownership of the old Acura brochure(we keep everything) so he is excited to see this one. BTW, the local dealer couldn't even give me one for a 2009 Prius. He made me a B&W copy of the color choices ... hmmmm.

Congrats!! just under 50mpg on the highway, eh? that's good.

i droev for four hours on the highway with the smart. Those seats are the most comfortable seats I've ever had the pleasure of sitting in (except for Volvo... those are superior)

    Better check that water ;):D

Well for the ride home from Chicago to Memphis 604mi I averaged 49MPG. Over the weekend I only took it out twice as I don't have a car seat for it yet and my son has to approve it before he'll sit in it (long story). But I took it to work today to get a feel for the MPG. I averaged 70MPG in normal (non ECO) mode for the 19mi trip. I need to practice P&G as I'm very light on the accelerator. I also noticed the battery was at half charge so the ICE was running at the start as I drove through my neighborhood. The street I drive is 6 lanes, 50MPH for half of it 40 for the other (7 miles) and a light every quarter mile or less so it's stop and go unless you hit them just right.

Congrats Jay C, and thanks for the review.

Do you think the leather interior (quality, comfort, finish) is worth the extra cost for Prius?

No doubt that leather is a more durable, and easier to maintain material than fabric. I have leather in both of our cars today.

    Thanks

As promised pictures. Note, the "plugs" for the two license plate holes were drying when I took this picture. I will post another after the rain stops :)

Update: added photo to show hole plugs.

    Alam,

I too am in the Chicago area, and after visiting 9 local Toyota dealers, I found Pauly to be the largest, and friendliest of the bunch.

The folks at Elmhurst and Lombard toyota seemed all too happy to lie to me an several features of the vehicles. I had one guy in another local dealership that the 2010s were being delayed based on safety issues, and that I really should stick to the 2009 Prius.

Then I spoke with, and finally met Jabber (Jeff) from this forum, and found him to be very knowledgeable, very friendly, and (sometimes) funny.

As for the dealership itself, when I arrived a few weeks ago to leave a deposit, I was impressed at it's size, although I never really left the showroom. When I returned this weekend for my first test drive in a '10 (I drove a III w/ SR) I was offered the ful tour. Among other areas that they have are an internet waiting room, a TV room, and a MOVIE THEATRE for the kids! I know that mine will not mind waiting as I go through paperwork.

Even though Pauly is over 40 miles from, I do not mind the drive to be treated well, fairly, and appropriately.

Guys and galls, I just pulled the receipt from my only fuel purchase on my trip. I happened to record the mileage.

    Mileage: 446.6
    Gallons: 8.689
    Price: 2.299

Now the car had 9mi when I took my test drive, then 14 after. Then they took it to get it ready. If I assume that it was filled after the 9 miles but before the 5 then my true mileage was 441.6/8.689 = 50.8 if it was filled after then it would be 49.8

    FWIW,
    Jay

Yes and no. It arrived at 12PM but it wouldn't have mattered. It's the end of the month, there was a huge scandal in the DMV where workers were taking money for "favors" and a lot of them were fired. I went to the local branch, there were around 100 people in line and only 2 workers to handle them. It took 17 minutes for them to service 8 people. Gonna try a different location Monday AM.
