Thanks! If you stream Pandora Radio from your i-Phone, will it drain the phone's battery quickly?

Good to know that the $77 rate exists. Thanks!

It will drain the battery, but if you get the car charge it wont kill the battery.

Confirmed that sat traffic is included in the trial (NAV warned me of construction in Phoenix tonight, but thought it was on the freeway vs. the closed on-ramps).

I think we're getting best of Sirius as well. The Mrs. and I were enjoying the 90's music and then the Comedy stations.

Can you confirm if you get XM channel 100 (or wherever they stick Howard Stern on XM)? Then you will know for sure if you have the 'Best of Sirius", as he is still only available on Xm with that package. (and I know that I will mainly tune into his show).

Stern is only available with the "Best of Sirius" package ... and if you get the $77 rate after the 3 months of free service, I don't think that rate covers "Best of Sirius"

You are correct. the "Best of Sirius" is an additional cost per month added to the $77 a year promo. The Nav traffic is also an additional fee.

I understand that both the best of and nav traffic are above the 77 cost, but my question is whether best of is included in trial subscription, as well as nav traffic, or if I will need to pay for best if from day 1?

I know that satellite radio works in a strange way. When you terminate your contract they send out a signal to turn off your radio from receiving the channels. This signal is only sent out for a few weeks or so. If your radio is out of range (in a garage) and you turn the radio on AFTER the signal has stopped being transmitted then you will have lifetime sat radio on that equipment. This is not speculation. I know it works for a fact.

OK, I get you ... good question? If I had to guess I'd say yes, since it'd make business sense to give those channels for "Free" as well to get people hooked but I don't know that is the answer for sure.

Does anyone know for sure if the 'Best of Sirius" comes with the free trial? Just tune to Channel 100 to confirm.

If not, I will let you all know this week, as I am supposed to take delivery this week...

    I'll check channel 100 @ lunch.

I'm a bit disappointed that MS Live Maps covers traffic on my daily route, but XM traffic doesn't. I'm going to dig into the covered areas for XM traffic, but it may be that I don't go there enough to justify the $5/mo. Then again, it is only $5/mo ;-)

Can anyone w/ XM state if their monthly cost has additional taxes or fees, or is that the straight end-all/be-all price?

Thanks for looking into this Rick, I appreciate it. As for the subscription pricing, I know that Sirius (the other 1/2 of the company) charges me $6.95 per month, pre-paid in 6 month billings, and they charge us nothing above the rate (no fees or taxes, etc).

Channel 100 could not be tuned. Would skip to 115 (Disney). Going down, would skip to 98.

I'd say we're trialing the std XM Everything (not family friendly as the XL's are available) plus NAV Traffic. $16.94/mo per XM Satellite Radio - America's #1 Satellite Radio Service

XM Radio Traffic alone is $12.95/mo (w/o promos or yearly prepay)
    Traffic alone is $9.95/mo
XM Radio + Traffic is $16.94/mo.

That is too bad (as that means I will need to call and activate on day one), but I appreciate knowing the answer.

For all I know though, they are broadcasting "Howard 100" on a different channel on XM, but I would not have thought so.

I have a lifetime subscription to Sirius, plus Internet radio via iTunes. Very sweet, mostly no commercials and a wide selection of programming anywhere, anytime.

Unless you buy a 2010 With Satellite radio, and then your lifetime Sirius will not work in the factory radio.

Your older radio will work in the Prius of course, but you will not be able to use the one that comes with the car to use your subscription.

According to Sirius, they plan on combining their billing systems later this year, which will then allow for something to be done for those of us with Sirius Lifetime Subs (as I have as well). Until then, there is very little they can or will do for us.

I have a lifetime sirius subscription, but its currently tied to my E55. They told me at the time I could transfer for $75, but now the fine print says that lifetime subs tied to factory vehicle systems cant be transferred. Am I screwed?

I would like to transfer it to a model V when I get one. Maybe I can convince them to let me transfer it to the sportster stand alone unit instead.

If you own a Sportster, from Sirius, I would just throw it in the car and you will not need to say anything to them.

From what I have been told from a high level person at Sirius, until they are able to merge their billing systems, they will not be able to do anything for us with a Sirius Lifetime. Down the road, they hope to be able to offer a customer of either service a discount on getting a 2nd radio, even if on the other 1/2 of Sirius XM. That is NOT the case today.
