When opening the sunroof, the first push of the button tilts the roof open, the second push opens the roof to the optimal wind/noise position, and the third opens it all the way. I get that.

When closing the sunroof, you must continuously hold the button in (I get that.) and closing halts at about half way. You must then release the button and hold it in again to close the sunroof the rest of the way. I don't get it.

I don't recall the manual mentioning this. Are others with the SSR experiencing the same phenomena? If this is proper behavior, what is the logic behind this?

    Your input is greatly appreciated!

I have the same design in my Scion Tc. It works as you described. I guess it is some sort of attempt at pinch protection. It's hard to imagine when you would need it. Maybe your dog or kid sticks his/it's head out in the wind and grabs/pushes the close button? Rarely, I will move it to that mostly closed position if it is breezy outside but I still want some fresh air venting.

An additional side note, if you turn off the car with the roof open, the car will beep once as a reminder.

Yes, mine closes this way too. Maybe pinch protection, but also a decent stop for quieter operation. I was kinda disappointed it didn't stop at the tilted position though before closing completely.

    Royrose and HTMLSpinnr,

Thank you for the info. I'm just glad it isn't a defect.

I was kind of wishing it wold stop at the tilted-up position as well.

I really do love the sunroof!
