I coundnt find the 1st Gen Prius forum so I posted here. I have a Prius hybrid battery pack that does not work, I replaced mine last fall. Does Toyota or someone buy cores? I live in Akron and the local dealers are in the dark about Toyota buy back programs.
    I appreciate your feedback.

There is supposed to be a $200 bounty on the used pack so that Toyota gets it back for recycling. There should be more info in your owners manual, if you have it.

I called Toyota and was told in no way does a consumer get paid from Toyota. They only pay 3rd party recyclers the $200.
Is this true or was this guy talking about someting he didnt know. He said I have to take it to the dealer, the dealers said they dont know what to do and dont want it because they have to pay $50 processing fee for it.
Anyone know a recycler who'll buy it from me?, How about a Prius enthusiast/salvager/tinkerer? Ebay?
    I appreciate your feedback,
    Joe

This is the decal that is on the Gen II battery. Is there a similar decal on the Gen I battery?

The sticker is there but Toyota does not offer any consumer battery core refunds of any kind. Any other ideas anyone?
