I don't know. I thought he was pretty cute, but I didn't want to say anything because Jayman would think I was hitting on him. He doesn't look like he would appreciate that very much. :D

Why? Sounds perfectly legal to me. Although I prefer "mature" women myself, I never turn down offers

It's all good. I'm pretty sure I could handle myself if it came to that

It's interesting how the range of attractive women increases as you get older. The young ones still look good, but then so do the older ones.

    Which one is Justin?

Confidence isn't something you can just decide to pick up at the dollar store. Maybe getting laid would improve my confidence, but aside from paying for it, I see no opportunities to get laid, and paying for sex does not improve one's confidence.

They were not offering. They were admiring my car. From the "safety" of their car.

My dad had a facial tick. Botox worked pretty well for a long time. They also did a surgery inserting a piece of teflon between a blood vessel and a nerve that caused the tick in his cheek - the short circuit was at the back of his head / the top of the neck. That worked not so good but one day a few years before he got cancer and died, his tick completely went away and I mean the pressure was completely gone. Boy was he happy! Wonder if the teflon finally floated into the right spot or what.

I called it a tic for lack of a proper word, but what I have is different. I look off to the side. Sometimes I can control it. Usually I can minimize it, so people just think I'm glancing at something over their shoulder. I think it puts people off. At home I let it go and look over my right shoulder. Sometimes I have an exaggerated blink. I've wondered if I have a sub-clinical case of Tourette's, since I also have the urge to say very inappropriate things, but I am able to control that completely. I strongly suspect that women find it repulsive.

Toyota already has it ... it's called the Lexus GS450h. Regenerative braking stores energy in a large battery pack, and much like Formula One, when you hit the "Warp Speed" button, it goes!!!!!!!!!!! I had a guy in one pass me on a freeway onramp once, and it had the acceleration of a C5 Corvette (Wikipedia says it does 0-60 in 5.2seconds, faster than any other Lexus GS. Wiki also says the C5 does 0-60 in 4.7, although I seem to remember 5.0. Wiki might be wrong).
    http://www.lexus.com/models/GSh/features/performance.html

Unlike Formula One, where there literally is a switch, the GS450h electric motor only adds power when the accelerator pedal is pressed beyond a certain point. Think of it like a turbo charger.

I suppose my ideal car would have both an HSD (Prius-like), and the system that the GS450h has (which would have a separate battery and regeneration system).

Back when I was younger I experienced two tiers ... tier one was getting socialized around females (I got a job at a place that was mostly females and worked with them all day, and that totally got rid of fear of talking to females (not that he has a fear, I'm just explaining the two tiers). After that job of about two years (part time retail, while I was in high school), I could talk to girls no problem and without being afraid because I felt like "I knew girls," and I did. (note to Daniel: turn in a job application for a part time job at a craft store or fabric store or some place where you will work with women all day)_ Tier two was getting laid (happened a few years later, in college). Before that, I always felt like girls could tell I was a virgin (translation for a guy's confidence = loser). Whether you feel 10% or only 1% that girls can sense you are a virgin, while talking to girls, they can somehow sense it and you feel like a loser and it is compounded. After getting laid the first time, it was like someone flipped a switch in my confidence. I was no longer "desperate." I didn't care anywhere near as much (sure all guys care about getting laid, but virgins care like 100 times more). This boosted my confidence huge, and upon entering Tier 2 (levels I just now assigned, for explanation purposes), I had this total confidence and no problem talking to girls at all. It was kind of like now being "a member of the club;" my personality/confidence now conveyed that I was a man, and girls noticed my confidence and accepted me 100% after that. I can't quite explain it, but Efusco is right that it is a huge confidence booster.

This goes back to the "you only have one life, don't waste it." Daniel, just try your best but answer all ten questions. Pretend you have to, and there is no other alternative. Just do it. You will never know how many matches (maybe even the perfect match) for you are on eHarmony. Don't waste a perfectly good opportunity.

$6K for the controller + $100/hr shop time for installation. I will present the bill to Paul (the builder who converted the car in the first place) along with the bill for other work needed to fix his shoddy job.

And it does not get anywhere near the FE of the Prius. It's a trade-off: efficiency or power. Only with pure electric can you have one car that has power and also can be efficient.

Lies don't lead to a "good" match.

Daniel, I agree whole heartedly. I would never use an lie as the basis of a relationship. Nothing good can come from it. My point relates to the nature of lying. If you have to supply crap answers to crap questions, I don't consider that lying. I consider that poor survey writing. There is no value to being pedantic about it. You aren't hurting eharmony, only yourself.

Let me use my own marriage as an example. When my wife and I first met, back in high school, she thought I was gay. There was an unfortunate misunderstanding relating to my weird sense of humor. One of my jokes was taken out of context, and several people got the wrong idea. She and her friends thought I was completely gay, which isn't a good starting point for a heterosexual relationship. Still, we got past that bit of misinformation and have been together for 37 years, and married for 34. She is my best and closest friend, my constant companion, and the love of my life. I am happy that small piece of misinformation didn't put an end to our relationship before it even started.

The misinformation at beginning of our relationship was no different than the misinformation generated by bad survey questions on a dating form. They aren't even worth a second thought. Take a deep breath, slap down some answers and move forward. You might even find the experience liberating.

wow $6K is a bundle. keep us posted. i still feel that more available power will give you better range as it will allow you to use the gears as they were designed.

now the "freewheeling" aspect of an electric motor i definitely do see the issue with that, but with enough power, you maybe able to put it in top gear and leave it there.

Some folks have referred to me as a "trained gorilla, but without the training"

Not sure if that means I'm too hairy - ok I am too hairy - or if it means I'm barely house trained
