And I am not one to love inanimate objects. But this car just seems to have a personality about it. I just brought my used 2006 Prius home (new to me) which I bought from (really) a nice older couple who only used it to drive 10 miles to work so it only has 38K on it. She was so distraught to lose it (they're buying 2010 but not for a month) that she couldn't come out to say goodbye. I understood why when experienced its greeting as I was coming out of the club in the dark. I lights up and beeps when I approach. Now that's cool.
To say that this car is perfect piece of engineering in the mp3 bluetooth iphone age is an understatement. How cool is that when I'm in handsfree mode and the voice of my caller is booming out clearer than the voice of... well you know.
I still have to read the owners manual and get all the differences but so far I'm very very impressed and wonder why it took me so long to get one.
ONE question ... I know I have to searc, but found nothing.. I can't get the speed dial to allow me to enter numbers. the Register button won't allow access. Since it's used and no warranty, anyone know if this could be locked or something?

Looking forward to many happy miles...and no more gas guzzling.

:welcome: Congratulations on your new ride! It's a great car!

You're not trying to enter speed dial numbers while the car is moving, are you? Much of the functionality of the phone screen is locked out while you're moving.

Do you have to enter and store them into the contacts database first and then register them as one of your speed dial numbers?? It's probably written somewhere in the unfriendly Owner's Manual :)

Yes. Then you go to the speed dial screen to register the numbers.

    Congrats!

It is indeed a wonderful car. There are quite a few of them around here too. :)

it does only get better, we have 56,000 miles on ours and I don't think I will ever get tired of this car. We will probably become a 2 Prius Family when my wife's 2001 Beetle bites the dust for good.

Thanks. I finally found out how to do it. What I couldn't believe is that the owner's manual had no listing in the back index at all for the words "telephone" or "Bluetooth"!! So I had to thumb through the whole thing looking for it. No way to transfer my iphone phone book so I had to do it manually. Ouch.
