Trying to decide between two oil testers for engine oil (not transaxel).

With similar cost, there is slight difference in the testing results I can get: Blackstone has antifreeze and fuel, while R&G gives viscosity at two temperatures. Some people seem to think R&G more accurate.

    Any suggestion welcome. Thanks! :)

With engine oil, I don't think it makes a lot of difference because that oil soon reaches operating temperature and stays there. The transaxle oil is different because it takes longer to reach operating temperature. It spends more time at the lower temperature ranges so having both low and high viscosity readings are important to tell if it has worn out.

Now if I were in Canada or truly cold areas, I would want both low and high viscosity readings but this assumes those terribly low, Alaskan or Canadian temperatures.

For the engine, detecting antifreeze or fuel contamination flags a serious engine problem before you see any other signs possibly saving many $$$$$$. That has to be two of the most valuable test results you can get in an analysis of an engine.
