Holes! The Prius badge and the HSD badge each have two pins. Any ideas as to what I should do?

Really all you can do is have a bodyshop fill in the pin-holes and respray that panel.

Personally? I'd put the emblems back on before I did that...

Well, by debadging it I was trying for more of a stealth look...

I wonder how it would look if I were to paint that panel a nice glossy black? I think it would kind of blend in with the lower glass of the hatch.

    Any more suggestions?

Not a bad idea while you're getting the badge holes filled. Personally, I'd remove the big Toyota logo, too!

    That's too bad.

I think that on all model years of the Gen II Prius, the rear hatch badges were stuck-on with 3M auto foam tape. And for some model years of the Gen II Prius, the side badges were stuck-on too (in the other years they used pins).

I think that for the Gen II Prius, it looked good without badges. See, e.g., darelldd's:

Were there any holes under the 'HYBRID' plastics on the sides?

IMHO, why paint over such an awesome color? Personally, I'd put them back.

I was rather surprised to not see a "Toyota" emblem, but rather just the logo in the center.

Your only option is to have them filled, painted, sanded, blended by a professional body shop... or put the emblems back on. This could become a very $$$ modification.

I'd have to agree with what most of the other folks have suggested. Just put the badges back on. EVERYONE knows what you're driving. I've seen debadged cars and sometimes I'm clueless as to what type of vehicle it is. The PRIUS is one of those cars that is easily recognizable. I DO like the look of a car without all the badges but with those holes you're going to ruin a perfectly decent car. OUCH!!! Tough decision!!

    Hi All,

How about spray painting the badges the same color as the car and putting them back on ? That seems stealthy to me.

Like the others, I'd just put them back on.

But I was planning to pull off the Hybrid badges on the sides (way overkill IMO), so like an earlier poster I'd be interested in knowing if there were pinholes under them too. I assume the OP pulled them too.

To me it looks like it got hit in the rear end and the body shop gave it a cheap repair and never bothered to put the proper logo's back

I would paint the emblems a matte black then put them back on.

The issue to me with refilling and repainting is getting the blizzard pearl to match. Its absolutely not worth breaking the factory paint finish for something like this...

Thank you for posting your experience. I was going to pull that and the side hybrid badges off when I received my Prius next month. Everyone has their own opinion on the appearance of debagded vehicles. I think they look great!

As far as what to do on your vehicle, I would put the emblem back to avoid having to paint, do work, etc. Definitely not a good idea on a brand new paint job...
