time would be 2-10 days. now if we knew where you lived, what port, etc. someone would probably be able to get you a better time frame.

now you would need to add one day minimum for dealer prep since they do some final assembly and clean up, etc.

i think mine like 4 days plus one day for dealer prep...

Thanks! It sounds like 2-15 days seems to be the consensus. I don't need to me much more precise than that, at least for now. I don't "need" it until ~August 20, so anything earlier is just gravy!

Cool. That's a new name to me, I have not seen that one mentioned.

I'm assuming that East Coast and West Coast cars are trucked from port to dealer and arrive in a few days from arrival at port, but us in the Midwest must have them loaded on trains (I'm assuming). My car appears to have been on the Nippon Highway that made some landings up and down the West Coast around 6/15 to 6/19 and then headed back. The paper work sent by my dealer on 6/19 gave the Activity Status as "D-ETA", "Deliver By: 07/08/09" and Vehicle Location as "PT" (which I assume means port).

Other info: Allocation number = 61; Port PDS Complete = N; Vessel Number = 433

The salesperson stated that their sales month ends around 7/6 and that it's likely that the car would show up earlier given that it's sold. Sound like a little BS to me. I can't imagine that having the car sold or not influences the port or transit operations folks.

    So my questions are:
    1) What's the estimated transit time from L.A. to Iowa?!?
    2) Does having the car sold influence the transit time?

PS: Why Iowa?? It's a long story but the Twin Cities dealers aren't getting many, if any, Blizzard Pearl IV with solar. Iowa, on the other hand, is in the Kansas City district and is!! So I'm going to Iowa!

I was wondering if anyone else had their car come in on Pyxis. It arrived in Portland on June 22 at 17:00. Also, has anyone in the Midwest recently received their Prius from Portland via Chicago. If so, how long did it take? My vehicle inquiry report says category F. Man am I getting excited.

    Boy, that ships hauls...literally.

Pyxis Leader had my car on board and dropped it off in Jacksonville FL port 6/8. It then made its way to NJ. Then apparently back to Japan. And now, per your input, more Toyota toys to Portland 6/22. FYI, Jeff (Jabber), a dealer sales rep from IL previously posted some info on transport time as that's how his store's vehicles come in.

Good for you and hope yours arrives very soon.

No not exactly. As far as I can tell, Pyxis is a different vessel than Pyxis Leader. Does anyone have input on this?

Mine came in Pyxis Leader. I thought it arrived through NJ but I could be wrong. The dealer told me on 6/17 that it was at the port, I believe it was released to the freight on 6/19, it reached the dealer (in Pittsburgh, PA) on 6/24 and it will be delivered today (6/25)! So it took about 7 days from Port to delivery.

2 ships, pyxis is older and smaller than the new leader class vessel.

Per my post a while ago, any thoughts on the average transit time from the West Coast ports to Iowa? The time on the paperwork I have would place it around 3 weeks and I'm just past week one.

I do have a call into the Ames IA dealer to get a delivery update but no word from him yet.

Also, does having a car sold influence transit time?

Any information would be appreciated so I can plan for the time off! Thanks in advance!

On another thread James Burke indicated that the Texas Highway arrived in port on 6/28 and left on 6/29. According to the spec sheet that a salesperson sent to me, I should have a car on this ship (I tend to be skeptical until I can actually smell that wonderful new car scent). I am located about 200 miles from the port. Does this mean that I should be getting ready for a new family member in the very near future?:rockon::rockon::rockon::rockon:

Well, I'm waiting for my car that came in on the Overseas Joyce on June 21 and my car went to F status on 6/25. Still waiting....

I'm hoping I'll have it by Friday. :)

My Prius II was on Overseas Joyce too. I just spoke to the dealer and he said chance of getting my car before Friday is 99.9%. I am in the NYC area. I purchase my car at Star Toyota at Bayside. How about you?

Sorry to barge in, but how are you finding out what ship your car is on and such?

I was told that mine is on a boat scheduled to dock on or around July 2nd in Houston and that they "have no idea when it will make it to the dealership". :( I have such a hard time believing or maybe accepting that there's nothing more concrete than that.

Should I just bug my sales person every day till it comes????

Your dealer has access to his allocation and on the information for your car it will list the ship. The rest takes work on your part. Posters here are giving ship information. But for port to dealer it varies. I find that the info Toyota posts in the NorthEast is not real accurate so you track peoples posts where they know when the ship came in and then they are posting that they got their car. Track that on a couple of ships and you'll have an ide as to when your car will hit the dealership.

The only updates you dealer can really tell you will be 1) what ship it is on and the ETA (by their listing) 2) After the ship hits the port and is processed it will go to frieght "F" mode and the new ETA_though not always accurate_mostly conservative). That is an update on his report he has available. 3) and then it arrives and he calls

Once it hits F status he really knows nothing until he sees the truck pull into the lot to drop it off.

Mine is scheduled to arrive in Iowa City on Monday, July 6. This is exactly 3 weeks after the ship arrived in Portland. Still hoping it may show up this week though.
