Wait guys! Don't be so dismissive! Priusskeptic is RIGHT!!!! I bought my '10 last night and on the way home (can you believe it?) PIRATES ATTACKED MY CAR! They tried to make me walk the plank onto the interstate. It was a terrifying experience and I barely escaped with my life! Only, if only, my prius were bulletproof...

So -- does anyone know of anything I can use to toughen the car up in preparation for the inevitable (maybe starting with a really good car polish with a :laser:super hard finish:ballchain?

And I wonder if they will eventually sell that anti-gravity device with control system inertial damping as an add on to the existing car? But I'm guessing that the inertial damping part will be an extra cost item...

 

Take it to one of those places that does spray on truck bed liners. It's available in colors now so you will have some choices.

Road salt won't hurt it. It's impervious to rain, bug hits, most rock chips, and if it is hit you can touch it up like a professional with a tooth brush. It also adds a layer of sound deadener and rust proofing.

 

Oh, it's pretty easy to defeat the armor in that X5. As far as that goes, even in something like a 3/4 ton Suburban with B7 armor, shaped charges will usually cut through like a hot knife through butter - literally

For smash-and-grab threats, my best advice is this: MOVE!!

 

I could care less if you drive a Prius or a standard production Suburban: a 9mm handgun will easily penetrate the door skin, the side windows, and the windshield
