Hello, I decided to start this thread because I have a price I want to post to see if fellow members could advise whether it is a good price or not. Therefore, I invite people to do the same of they have a price they want checked out. Please post which Prius (II thru V), which package and which options are in it. Please post out the door/drive-out prices only. Thanks!

    Here is my quote:
    PRIUS IV:
    -Solar roof package (includes navigation)
    -window tint
    -Remote Start
    -Floor mats.
    Out the Door price: $32,996.06
What do you all think? Thanks!

Who really knows? This is an international site and only your fellow Texans may have an idea as to your tax rate. Let us know the deal without taxes as that's the deal. taxes are what they are and you don't change them.

Here are the three "out the door" prices (taxes NOT included) I have been offered (Northern Indiana Area):

    #1
Prius III + NAV (White w/tan interior)
    Base: 23000
    Nav: 1800
    Bumper Protector: 69
    Front Protector: 395
    Paint: 220
    All Weather Mats: 199
    Destination: 750
    Documentation: 149.50
Dealer (Gates Toyota, South Bend, IN) Discount: 500

    Out the Door: 26,082.50

I did not take this one because first, I want a SLR package, and second, I refuse to pay that much in add on's (395+199 is just too much)

    #2
Prius III + NAV (Dark Gry w/Dark Gry)
    Base: 23000
    Nav: 1800
    Bumper Protector: 69
    Destination: 750
    Documentation: 95
Dealer (Jordan Toyota, Mishawaka, IN) Discount: 250

    Out the Door: 25,369

I did not take this one because first I want a SLR package. If it would have been solar, I would have got it (I can deal with only 69 in add on's)

    #3
Prius III + SLR (Dark Gry w/Dark Gry)
    Base: 23000
    Solar + Nav: 3600
    Bumper Protector: 69
    Front Protector: 395
    All Weather Mats: 199
    Remote Start: 529
    Destination: 750
    Documentation: 149.50
Dealer (Gates Toyota, South Bend, IN) Discount: 500

    Out the Door: 28,191.50

I did not take this one because I refuse to pay that much in add on's (395 +199 + 529 is just too much)

I have told both dealers (Gates and Jordan) that I want a III + SLR in either white or dark gry, with minimal add on's. I am #1 on the waiting list at Jordan, so that means I get first crack at all incomming 2010's. I am hoping that they get what I want soon...

This should be an informative thread!

Ok, you guys are right it does vary, sorry for the dumb mistake. if there is a fellow texan who can give an opinion on my first post though, i'd greatle appreciate it. Without taxes, the quote for my prius in the first post (prius IV, with solar roof/nav, window tint, floor mats, and remote start would be $30,481. I think non texans can give opinion on that, right?

Looking at Edmunds pricing, the car would MSRP for $30,150 + remote, mats and tint. If you want those extras then it appears they are offering you a decent discount

Well as far as the extras, I told the sales associate that I must absolutely have the solar roof/navigation and window tint, but that I was flexible on the remote start and floor mats (i.e. kinda want them, but must not absolutely have them) Anyways, thanks! that does help. ANybody here has a similar set up to mine?

I can tell you GST charges $300 msrp for port installed ceramic tint. They did a good job on my car. I can also tell you I regret getting the remote engine start. By the time I remember to turn the car on, I'm usually already on top of it. Then, as soon as I unlock any door, it instantly turns off.

Oh, and anyone getting anything off MRSP in Texas at this point in the inventory buildup is probably doing well.

By the way, the solar roof package already includes remote start of the A/C (runs off the batteries for up to 3 minutes). Remote engine start is a separate option that would definitely be overkill in Houston.

Great! not only a fellow Texan, but Houstonian! Where did you purchase yours? My quote is from Fred Haas Toyota. That really sucks about the engine start! Then what the heck is the point of it then?? Can the remote engine start be removed easily, or is it something imbedded somewhere in the depths of the Prius?

Hmmm, not much reason to remove it now that I bought it. Doesn't hurt anything. I think the main component is an add-on computer board. I suppose the main purpose is to allow pre-warming or pre-cooling when your car is sitting nearby outside (like in your driveway). Toyota is extremely liability conscious, so to avoid having the possibility of some thief or kid jumping in the pre-started car and driving off, they require that it be locked, and even go so far as to force shutoff the second you do unlock it. The good news for you is that with the solar roof package remote A/C, instead of starting the car, it just starts the A/C running off of batteries only (if you press the A/C button on the fob). Only lasts up to 3 minutes, but I think it doesn't care if the car is locked or not.

Got my car through a special program, but was delivered through Fred Haas Toyota. I like their service dept.

I just picked up my Prius II (red), it had wheel locks on it  which are a pain, but i ordered an extra wrench to have in the house when (not if) I lose the original one, they charged me dealers cost, $15.

I paid $22450+ taxes and state charges, plus some bogus $45 charge for "convenience of getting registration thru dealer"?!. I got a great deal because my nephew works for honda and I told them I was planning to get an insight for a very good price (I was) but they gave me this price for "that moment" only, you know how that goes. But I took it since other dealer Hoselton would offer no discount at all. but when i showed up to pick up the car they had tacked on a $100 wash & wax charge that i insisted they take off, it hadn't been mentioned to me when i agreed to buy the car.

I have a friend who then proceeded to buy a car from them a week after me, but his price was 22750 plus I am giving him half of my finders fee of $100.

Picked up a Classic Silver/Misty Gray IV - $25,800 with:
Delv, proc and handling fees - $805
    solar roof + nav - $3.600
    tint - $299
    vehicle shield pkg - $349
    sealant
    sound shield
    cleaner
    rental asst.
    owner rewards pkg - $762
    security sys upgrade
    carpet mat set
    carpet floor mats
    trunk mat
    rear bumper protection
    wheel locks
    cargo net
    two no charge service visits
    synthetic oil/filter
    tire rotation
    multi-point insp
They included two system setups, single rear beep and no seatbelt beep, which the dealer normally charges $95 each for.

Bought it at Community Toyota in Baytown, paid sticker of $31,615. Got a fair trade in on my 2005 Honda Odyssey, at least I think so.
I like it a lot, works great and I am getting over 50 mpg with my first hybrid. Even better than my Kawasaki gets. Good luck with getting what you want at the price you want, had Fred Haas Toyota Country tell the wife and I that there would not even be any solars until August, and then there would be a value added cost up to $5,000. They are really pushing the '09 models it seems also.

Second that, the quote of the solar I posted was giving to me by Fred Haas. The quote they gave is not of something I might custom order, but rather of something they have in stock already that matches what I want..so yes, they have solar
