There is no standard "Costco price" across the country.
Individual dealers set their own unique price with the Costco auto buying program.
So you can't expect an answer for "What is the Costco price?" You have to ask what is the Costco price for a specific dealer.
Costco doesn't set the prices.

While that is true, I have spoken to over a dozen dealers that have the Costco agreement in my area and they all priced the 2009 & 2008 at $500 over invoice. this is in So CA and although it may vary across the country, it is consistent here, and probably will be consistent in your area.

The Costco automotive team called regularly throughout the entire waiting time, wanting to make sure we were getting good service and asked that I let them know if I had any questions about the pricing they offered. They said that I was to have them show me the invoice pricing report.

Hi there. Can you tell me how to get in touch with the Costco Salesman in my area? I can't find it on the Costo web site. I am in San Diego.

Well, well, it looks like these cars are not selling quite as fast as the dealers want! Just got a call from my local dealer who has a pkg.#5 that they will sell for $500 below MSRP!!! ($32,700) PASS. Dont need the useless Sun roof or the dumb ATP. I'll wait for what I ordered

I originally called my local Costco and they gave me this phone # 800-801-9806.
They assigned me to a local dealer that has a contract with them, but they were also willing to offer multiple dealers names to me

They were very conscientious and called regularly to be sure I was getting all of the help I needed from my dealer.

It is nothing but speculation, but I would expect that they will release their prices anywhere from 6 months to 1 year from now.

I posted earlier that I got $200 off MSRP.
Model III with Solar package = $23K + $3,600 - $200 = $26,400
Out the door with taxes, docking fee, and DMV charges= $29,678

I think I could have pushed for another $100 or more, but 4 some reason I didn't!

Doug,

I'd like to buy a II but would like to purchase the 17 inch rims as an accessory....is that possible? If so, how much would they cost? What is the offset of these wheels? And what can fit in the new Prius?

Thank you.

$500 below MSRP??? I wouldn't pay $500 over invoice...forget MSRP.

Give it 6 months to a year...these bloodsuckers will be begging for sales.

$500 off of nearly $33K MSRP is not that amazing.

Depends on if gas prices go up to over $4 per gallon again in the short term (very unlikely because that would require the economy to turn around and energy demand to increase greatly).
However, Toyota is also quite capable of building many more of these cars than there do now if demand warranted it.
They aren't building at near maximum production capability at all available existing factories plus they have another entire mothballed Prius factory sitting idle.

I'm sure u r right, but I didn't want to wait.
Esp since the Model III with solar isn't generally available in So CA
.

I guess I was willing to pay to be the 1st one on the block! :D
We are also planning to drive to see family in other states so we wanted to plan on leaving right away.

You can't get the backup camera without the NAV System, then there are options that you can't get only on the high end models. I think Toyota did a terrible job of pricing. If they want to stay competive then they need to unbundle packages. The economy stinks and they are forcing you into options you don't need. I don't need heated seats in florida. Hello. The solar system isn't that great anyway the car still gets very warm inside.

No doubt.

That's why I'll never buy a car at MSRP...regardless of how much I want it or need it.

agreed. What is Toyota thinking? Even in SoCal, the solar roof 'cooling' system is iffy at best. AND YOU HAVE to get all the other ATP crap to go with it. A 'self-park' Prius? Cmon who needs it and who wants that? The car fully loaded is approacing $34,000!!! ARe you listening Toyota? You are forcing people to re-think the Honda Insight or ...gasp...a BMW or even a Audi!!!

I smell a Troll - who doesn't have his facts straight!

You cannot get the solar roof with the ATP. You actually cannot get a fully loaded Prius here in the U.S. According to others in a current thread, the solar cooling actually is effective at knocking down the interior temperature of a parked car. Insight? - that's funny, worse car in every respect except handling. BMW or Audi? Good luck finding a base model for less than a Prius w/ package V.

I live in Norway, one of the most car-hostile countries in the world and I have just ordered my Prius III. Don't know about the rest of the europe, but delivery for Norway will start some times in September, and I will be among the first ones to have it.

Here in norway, the car is offered in 4 trims. The basic trim is called Comfort and have HUD and fog lights among notable equipments. This version costs 42,000$. As crazy as this price mgith soound, it is quite cheap for the norwegian std.

The next trim is called Advance and adds 17'' wheels, cruise control, rain sensor, keyless start/stop, bluetooth and leather-wrapped steering wheel. It costs 45,000$.

The next trim is Executive and adds LED lights, HDD Nav, rear camera, parking assist, light-sensitive mirror, etc. price on this is 49,000$. Heated leather seats and solar sunroof are available at extra charges.

The top trim is Premium. This version has pretty much everything, including solar sunroof, pre-crash, leather seats and adaptive cruise control. LKS is not available though, and like elsewhere the wheels are downgraded to 15''. Price on premium is 54,000$.

All prices here are road-ready, metallic however is not included.

I chose Premium, most others here supposedly have chosen Executive + leather. As you can see, thanks to the punitive tax which is calculated based upon the vehicle's weight, horsepower and CO2 emission, the prices between the trims don't differe much and as result most people choose high-end trims. This also applies to other cars. I'm planning to add 17'' wheels late-on and use the factory 15 ones for winter use. 54,000$ is a lot, but that's about how much a loaded Golf 2.0 TDI would cost here. I've been considering other cars, in the form of a wagon with 2 liter engine (anything above 2 liter is pure luxury here and out of reach for most people) and automatic tranmission, but decently equipped Euro Accord (TSX in the US), Mondeo, Passat or Avensis all cost at least 60000$. Prius didn't really come into the picture until about 2 weeks ago, but when I saw the price, it became a no-brainer.
