Saw my second Gen III (other than my own) on the road today. First one was the day after I took delivery of mine (June 2). Surprised I haven't seen more in the bay area already.
Saw a Blizzard White Prius IV today on I79 northbound. I believe it was the one I originally had ordered and then decided to wait on the V
I have seen NONE in LA, except mine. I know they're selling because they couldn't find enough desks at the dealers for all their customers...
drove my car to work today for the first time (picked up last friday) - so someone must have seen me on the greenway the toll road and 66 inside the beltway! and yes i drove HOV with regular plates - it will take weeks to get hybrid plates because i don't have a title # yet
The prevalence of new Prii is clearly rising fast. I'm seeing another new one every day. Blue Ribbon on Wednesday, exiting I5; Barcelona Red north of the zoo Thursday, and probably a Silver too (too quick to verify); and a Sandy Beach near WMT in SnoCo today.
Saw a Blizzard Pearl idling, 50' from where I parked my Classic Silver II at the Eastgate Park & Ride in Bellevue - early this week. Saw another Blizzard Pearl driving down I-5 Fed Way thru Tacoma today; yet another Blizzard White on I-5 near Lacey w/ an Olympia dealer's info (no license plate yet)
Saw my first one in the wild in Springfield, MO this week. Black, not sure which package, haven't gotten that tuned in to pick them out in passing yet.
Saw 4 Gen III's today driving from Santa Monica to Playa Vista, 2 black, 2 magnetic gray. Without the blue emblem sometimes it's hard for me to tell the difference between the 2009 and the 2010. Also saw around 30 Gen II's on the road, it's Prius Heaven here!
We all took a trip the other day to Lancaster PA. For dinner we went out to Red Lobster and while pulling out of my spot a gentleman ran out of the restaurant gesturing to me. I was like Oh No what the hell did I do?! So I put the window down and he asked about my car lol. He said he just got a barcelona red (Prius III)parked on the other side. I've got to say when I went to go look at it the Barcelona Red does look beautiful on the 2010. So anyways, where are you Dave? lol I gave him the PriusChat's website and my username etc so hopefully he checks out the forums here. He said he waited quite some time for for his as well but like me he said the wait has been worth it! Hope to see ya' on here Dave! Also, saw a Blizzard Pearl Prius III parked on the streets in Brooklyn about a week ago. Other than these 2 sightings and a blue and white on my dealers lot that's it...
whule having remote start put in i saw 2 gen 3 being driven. this is interesting: his complaint was that it was dripping a few drops of oil!!!oh oh. but it turned out that he paid to have the extra undercoating put on and it was dipping as it got hot. no big deal at all. fred from nashville
Last weekend me and my wife were across the water in Va Beach and observed quite a few Prius on the road, I couldn't say for sure how many were the actual 3rd generation Prius since I was busy driving my 2007 Honda Ridgeline; However the sightings alone was a sign to come...I sold my truck to a chiropractor in VA Beach that same day - Friday June 26th and placed an order for a 2010 Prius IV on Saturday June 27th at RK Toyota. The Doctor took ownership of the truck on 6-29 and we are patiently waiting on our order.
i would think an undercoating application that is dripping day(S)? later just becauise it's hot WOULD be a big deal
Yesterday I finally saw another 2010 on the Vancouver streets, a Blue Ribbon with sunroof, around Fraser and Kingsway. It was hot here yesterday and they were definitely showing off their roof, had it wide open. I still haven't seen an Insight on the road though.
Besides the ones I saw as part of the Prius Connection SF event, which don't count, I finally saw 2 of them recently. One was on the road in Sunnyvale but I think driven by a Toyota Sunnyvale employee. It didn't have plates yet (had that dealer's red placeholders) and had a paper tag hanging from the mirror as if it'd been taken in for service. Perhaps it was being taken somewhere to have some aftermarket mods done? The other was one parked at my work this past week. I might've seen one more on the road, but my memory is foggy now. When I was in the Los Angeles area for a week in the beginning of June, I saw 2 2010 Insights but no 2010 Priuses. I put >300 miles on my car driving around in LA that week.
Lots of Gen III's in the wild in West LA. Blizzard Pearl - Westchester Barcelona Red - Venice Classic Silver - Two in Santa Monica, one in Marina Del Rey, one in Venice Black - Century City Blue Ribbon Metallic - Santa Monica They all look gorgeous.
Does seeing one in a Wal-Mart parking lot count? I was told by my dealer that I had the only SR in the area, but low and behold the only I've also had SR. Then I looked at the Lic plate and realized it was from a city about 2½ hours from here. I liked the red, but I like my silver more. Sorry red owners, I don't mean to offend anyone.
