the gold logo would look really nice with the sandy beach metallic. Silver with the silver, etc. Not sure about the at package and the logo but best make sure. Dont want to run off the road while sleeping, logo may block your lane assist radar, could be a devastating nap : ) .

I ordered this set a week or two ago in advance of anticipated 2010. The set looks OK though the lights have blue rims -- hopefully not too noticeable when recessed. Comes with wiring, harness and a small three-way rocker switch. My 2010 is due end of next week. If my nerve holds.I will have the set installed and post pics.

When you get the lights installed, please post some pictures.

    Thanks,

    Keith :)

I don't yet see any discussion of the light pattern of the fog lights, either OEM or aftermarket. Does anyone else care?

If the lights have a good usable pattern, such as the aftermarket Bosch Pilots on my just-departed '86 Honda, then I'll do it. If they are like the useless factory decorations on my Subaru -- which seem typical of factory foglights -- then no deal.

I want function, not appearance. But I haven't yet run the 2010 in nightime foul weather, so haven't been able to evaluate the effectiveness of the main headlight pattern.

That would be very good. Has anyone discovered whether II,III, and IV are to any extent pre-wired?

They don't appear to be pre-wired in my initial digging under the hood. I saw gaps in the harness where they were soft taped vs. flexi-conduit (for lack of a better term) where wiring "would" have come out had we had fogs. Think we're on our own on this one. :(

Wouldn't that actually be a good thing? That way we aren't tampering with the factory harness. Most people will probably opt for installing a dedicated switch and utilize one of the blank-plugs on the dash. Just saying.......

my service mgr. has gotten under two 2010s. (a II and a III) he sees no obvious existing wires but thinks maybe the current light harness may house the wires and a pass thru plug for the fog lamps will be used. they have recvd. no Vs yet. he is convinced they are set up as he agreed that the knockouts look like an afterthought. now for the good news. i have ordered everything i need from toyota to install into my IV, arriving 7/17/09. i worked with the parts dept. and ordered the prius V knockouts(w/ hole already cut out),the fog lights from the V, and the stalk from the V. the stalk concerned him but he said he can send it all back if it doesnt work. i am taking a chance with this as the wiring may not be there. sigma instructions are in japanese and according to their site delivery will take 3-5 weeks( i think sigma may in fact manufacture these in the first place), i am impatient as we are leaving on a 2.5 week driving vacation on the 28th. as for the brightness, projection etc... , i do care but am trusting for the most part that the toyota lights will be the best fit and execution for the car, if not, i ll send them back. i ll send pics on the 17th or soon thereafter assuming the car arrives on time and the lights go on!. below is a scan of the parts ordered. the stalk again is the one part they are concerned about and whether a relay may be needed for it.

quick follow up, the stalk will not work, the v harness is different from the iv and the wiring is not waiting behind the knockouts : ( . My toyota mechanic is going to use the fog lights from a v and possibly the switch from a tacoma(my tacoma has a rectangular swith on the lower left dash taht should fit in the prius's accessory knockouts on dash) and finally he will fabricate a harness(he is good at this, will send pics when done)oh, my car has arrived!!!,will post pics in the next couple days! : )

I am very interested in the switch that you will be using. I even opened a seperate thread on this since a lot of mods would require a switch, and most prefer a stock look. Could you provide a part number when you verify that it will fit? I would sincerely appreciate it.

    Thanks.

Where is the option, "I live in Australia, I cant get a Prius without the quite useless fog lights."

I got under the bumper and removed the side panel under the corner of the fender. Very interesting.

No fog light harness of course, but there is a connector there that has about 8 wires going into it. There is another connector attached into it, but only 4 wires come out. Those wires go to the existing signal lights. So what are the unused wires for? I will look over the wire diagrams. Oh, and I took some good pictures. I will post them soon.

i sure will, i am meeting the mechanic mon. Or tuesday. He is either going to use the foglight dash switch from the tacoma( as mentioned i have an 08 tacoma with foglights,we think its switch may be an exact fit into the knockout on the prius dash,if not the prius has a headlight washer switch(prius v)that might be used) i am far from an electrician but the mechanic feels with a relay it will be possible. He understands that i want a stock look, no cutting holes etc.) i will post by tuesday and let you know.it is upsetting that there is not an existing harness there. I will ask him about the 8 wires becoming 4 as that is interesting, course they may simply need to merge at the connection. At the very least i am having him install the prius v foglamps and housings on monday or tuesday w/o the wiring for the time being. He qouted me close to 750.00 though for the entire job, about 480.00 in parts and the rest labor. Again, the switch is my concern, has to look stock!!!

Would installing the non-Toyota fog lights on a IV cause problems with the Warranty?

Only if a warranty claim was root caused by the wiring modifications for the fog lights. Then, it would likely only invalidate that portion of the warranty.

These are pictures under the bumper right behind the fog light plug. you can clearly see in the 1st picture the gray fog light blank. there are two wires going to it. Following it down is a Y connection. I didn't pay uch attention to it. The wire harness goes down and loops around (follow the red arrow) onto the 2nd image.

On that 2nd image, you'll see where it conencts to much more wiring that looks to be unused. Note that that cable (with the red line traced over it) is only about 18 inches long.

Looking over the wiring diagrams for factory fogs looks promising.
