    Hello,

I just thought I would share what I have run into in trying to get my gen 111 2010 prius....

Found out 4 days ago, WA state sales tax except expires July 31, so I thought that combined with the cash for clunkers program, I could get ~$7000 off, so I went at it. Well in the puget sound area of WA state, all the 2010 prius are gone - pre-sold or already bought. While I was at he dealer, someone who had already ordered one called and changed their mind - wife didn't want it. So i said I'll take it (base model 11, no options). Now for the details: $500 holds the car for me; the car will get out of customs July 22; the cash for clunkers program may not be in effect till July 27......*sigh*

First impressions driving someone else's 2010 around the parking lot: kinda nice. Very weird, being so quite when it is just electric. I have an old jeep - the front wheel steer will take some getting used to. Weird shifter, etc. but overall I am hoping that all the parts will fall into place.

If you live in the puget sound area and want one of these good luck. Ordering them will get here in Aug - after the sales tax exception will be over.....

    One day at a time....:)

Have you been told this by multiple sources? 4 to 6 weeks ago, there was an ample supply in the pipeline.

Don't put your hard earned money down on anything unless you have a contract that describes: 1) what you are buying, 2) how much you will pay, and 3) estimated date of delivery.

    Good Luck,

    Keith

If you drive just a little further South/West, you will find some.
I happen to know that our local dealer has THREE sitting on the lot... a white Pkg II, a Silver Pkg III, and a black Pkg IV

None have solar/sunroof. Sorry. The package II and IV did not have NAV - the Pkg III did, when we were there.

    well that figures....:)

As it stands right now, I am happy. I had a good experience with the sales guy and his boss. My model 11 is bare bones but I can live without some of that fancy stuff. If everything goes according to plan, I will only have to have ~$15K loan instead of ~$20-30K....:)

The major factor(s) were the gas milage, hybrid, good rep for reliability/service, etc., and the timing of the sales tax exempt + cash for clunkers cash, so I got all that....well I assume I will....:)

    Thanks
