I know it is a hike for you jpadc, but I have a few III's that aren't spoken for that will be here in the next couple of days.

And we currently have 27 C4C sold orders. Friday is going to be a zoo here.

yeah, i just get more and more stressed out as the count down continues and i just want to get it over with. i really hope the dealer that i have a deposit at decides to do the cash for clunkers program, it would really save me alot of hassle.

i hope that it goes smoothly for our friends on this site waiting for the program to start too.

if there is anyone else out there experienceing the same thing let us know.

i really wish i could change the title of this thread.

On top of all that if the program is a raging success and the first tranche of funding is used up you can betcha that the auto industry will have their congress people extending the program another 90 days...then another 90 days...then another 90 days.

The program was foreseen originally to last 12 months, need $4 Billion and result in 1 million clunkers being turned in.

I'll bet dollars to donuts that this is exactly what happens. May calm and peace descend on the masses.

I meant to say exempt from passenger car mpg standards. Though these vehicles are in every suburban driveway.

What's disturbing is you go to a shopping center, and you see a lot of women driving humungus Guzzlers--like the ones mentioned above. Usually alone. They aren't driving Honda CRVs, RAVs or Ford Escapes. And they often have a cell phone stuck in their ears. The dumb PA pols still haven't banned it like they have in Jersey.

The laws do not mean a thing. When I drive home from work it seems like one driver out of 5 is yacking on the phone, and not hands free. The cops never do anything about it. We saw a cop yacking on his cell while driving yesterday. This is one of my biggest peeves along with texting while driving.

I totally agree, the cops here wouldn't do a thing and would probably break the law themselves. I really hate seeing a mom in a huge SUV, speeding, and being wreck-less. It just makes me have thoughts about the society..

Paul: Thanks, that is really very kind of you to mention. In this case I'm wanting to be loyal to Rhinelander Toyota as I bought my 2008 from them back last summer trading in my 2007 Prius. Its nice to support the smaller local dealer and they have been very fair with me in the past.

For now, I'll cross my fingers and hope that funds will hold out...

I hope the program brings you (and others) lots of business Paul. Its good for us all to keep the economy growing!

Jabber - I'm one of the horde of 27 ready to descend upon the defenders of Pauly. Based upon your comment, am I to conclude that the program will be fully in place and the dealer community prepared to participate effective Friday?

Dealer community prepared? As much as we can be given that we have no idea how this program is going to work. So I would have to say that being effective is going to be rough. And Friday is going to be a zoo. I won't be within 10 miles of the store on that day. If I were you, I would plan on a saturday early morning delivery. Given the amount of people coming through to take delivery, I wouldn't be surprised if it takes 4 hours to get through the paperwork. 5 for the entire proper delivery.

No problem. I respect the fact that you have loyalty to your dealer. Admirable in this day and age. Enjoy your car!

And my name is Jeff, I work at Pauly Toyota :D
